Job Description
Position:
Technical Assistant for the Trades Programs
General Duties:
To assist the Trades Programs instructors (Automotive, Construction, Electrical) in providing a safe and supportive class environment in which students can take full advantage of the instructional program and available resource materials. Time will be divided among the three programs at the discretion of the CTC Director.
Reports to:
Director of the East Providence High School Career & Technical Center (CTC)
Qualifications:
1.Graduation from high school or high school
equivalency certificate.
2.Hold or be eligible for an OSHA Safety certification in a Trade or related field.
3.Minimum 5 years experience in Automotive, Construction, Electrical, or a related trade. Possess an aptitude for general mechanical work.
4. Strong Communication & Interpersonal Skills. Must be able to develop a rapport with students and colleagues.
5. Must Possess a valid Driver's License with preference given for CDL.
6. Must Pass a BCI Criminal Background Check
Responsibilities:
1.Assist the instructors in all areas of classroom and lab activities.
Assist with the operations of the Automotive, Electrical, and Construction Program students enterprises.
Assist with organization and maintenance of tools and materials in the Automotive, Construction, & Electrical Programs.
Work with students, modeling safety and professionalism, in the Automotive, Construction, & Electrical Programs under the instructor's supervision.
Perform other duties as assigned by the teacher and/or Director of Career & Technical Education.
Thirty (30) hours per week, during the 2025-26 school year, no benefits. Grant funded position.
