Lead Journeyman Electrician - Commercial Tenant Improvements JC Electric |

$ -$ per hour, based on experience JC Electric is looking for a strong Lead Journeyman Electrician who knows how to run commercial tenant-improvement work—not someone who simply wants the title. We specialize primarily in retail and commercial tenant improvements throughout Southern California. Our projects move quickly, schedules change, and every job requires communication, planning, and accountability. We need someone who can receive a set of drawings, understand the scope, lay out the work, lead a small crew, and keep the project moving. We are not looking for someone who knows everything. We are looking for someone experienced, dependable, willing to communicate, and still willing to learn. What You'll Be Responsible For Leading journeymen and apprentices on active projects Reviewing drawings, specifications, and project scope Planning daily work and clearly laying out your crew Coordinating with the superintendent, project manager, GC, and other trades Tracking progress, manpower, materials, changes, and field conditions Identifying problems early instead of waiting until they become emergencies Maintaining quality workmanship and code compliance Completing daily reports, timecards, and required job documentation Keeping the jobsite organized, productive, and safe Teaching and developing the electricians working under you Taking ownership of the project from rough-in through final inspection What We're Looking For Minimum 5 years of commercial electrical experience Previous experience leading crews on commercial TI projects Strong knowledge of branch power, lighting, lighting controls, panels, transformers, and electrical distribution Ability to read and work from electrical drawings Understanding of the NEC and California electrical requirements Ability to plan ahead and order material before it is needed Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills Reliable transportation and a valid driver's license Your own basic hand tools Willingness to work occasional nights, shutdowns, overtime, or weekends when the project requires it Experience with retail stores, restaurants, malls, occupied spaces, and fast-paced remodels is strongly preferred.
