Electrician - Residential & Commercial Service Always On Time Electric, Inc. is looking for an experienced Electrician with a strong background in both residential and commercial electrical work. We are a locally owned electrical contractor serving Northwest Florida and are continuing to grow our residential and commercial service operations. This is not an entry-level position. We are looking for an experienced electrician who can independently troubleshoot electrical problems, manage jobs from start to finish, communicate professionally with customers, lead helpers or less-experienced electricians, and maintain a high standard of workmanship. What You'll Do As a Electrician, you will work on a combination of residential and commercial service calls, repairs, upgrades, troubleshooting, and installation projects.

Typical work may include:

Residential and commercial electrical troubleshooting Diagnosing circuit, breaker, GFCI, AFCI, and power-loss problems Panel repairs and panel replacements Meter/main and electrical service upgrades Dedicated circuits EV charger circuits and 240V installations Generator inlet and interlock installations Whole-home surge protection Lighting installation and troubleshooting Receptacles, switches, ceiling fans, and exhaust fans Grounding and bonding corrections Code corrections and electrical safety improvements Commercial lighting repairs and upgrades Commercial panels, circuits, disconnects, and equipment connections Troubleshooting electrical issues in offices, retail spaces, properties, and other commercial facilities Reading blueprints, schematics, and equipment specifications Determining materials and equipment needed for jobs Inspecting completed work for quality and code compliance Lead Responsibilities Our Electrician is expected to take ownership of the job.

You should be comfortable:

Running jobs independently Directing helpers and less-experienced electricians Teaching proper installation and troubleshooting methods Maintaining workmanship and safety standards Catching problems before they become callbacks Communicating job progress with the office Planning materials and next steps Reviewing work performed by other team members Helping jobs stay organized, efficient, and profitable Representing Always On Time Electric professionally in the field You do not need to be a formal manager, but you must be comfortable taking the lead when the job requires it. Residential Service Experience Matters This position is not strictly commercial construction. A large part of our business involves working directly with homeowners and diagnosing electrical problems in occupied homes.

You must be comfortable:

Listening to customer concerns Troubleshooting beyond the obvious symptom Explaining what caused the problem Discussing repair options clearly Answering customer questions Presenting recommendations professionally Treating customers and their property with respect We do not want technicians who simply reset a breaker or replace a part and leave. Our customers are hiring a professional because they want to understand why the problem happened and what should be done to correct it properly. Commercial Experience Matters Too We are continuing to expand our commercial electrical work. Experience with any of the following is helpful: Commercial service and troubleshooting Three-phase electrical systems Commercial panels and distribution Lighting and lighting controls Disconnects and equipment circuits Conduit installation Transformers Commercial tenant improvements Property-management service work Retail, office, hospitality, or multifamily electrical systems Exterior and parking-lot lighting We are especially interested in electricians who are comfortable moving between residential and commercial work depending on the needs of the day.

Qualifications Applicants should have:

Significant electrical experience Strong residential troubleshooting ability Residential service experience Commercial electrical experience Working knowledge of the National Electrical Code Experience with panels, breakers, branch circuits, grounding, and bonding Ability to diagnose electrical problems independently Ability to safely use electrical testing equipment Ability to read blueprints, diagrams, and manufacturer instructions Strong communication skills Professional appearance and attitude Ability to lead helpers or less-experienced electricians Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record Reliable attendance and punctuality ServiceTitan experience is helpful, but not required. Technology & Documentation We use ServiceTitan for dispatching, job documentation, photos, estimates, customer approvals, and timekeeping. Previous ServiceTitan experience is helpful, but we will train the right electrician.

Physical Requirements Electrical service work may require: Working in Florida heat Working in attics Working in crawlspaces Working in confined or dark spaces Climbing ladders Working overhead Lifting and carrying electrical materials and equipment Standing, bending, kneeling, and performing physically demanding work Applicants must be able and willing to perform these job duties safely, with or without reasonable accommodation.
