Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a skilled and motivated Journeyman Electrician to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing a wide range of electrical systems across industrial and commercial settings. Your expertise will ensure that all electrical work complies with safety standards, local electrical codes, and industry regulations. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work on diverse projects, from renovation and construction sites to complex industrial electrical systems, utilizing your hands-on skills and technical knowledge to keep operations running smoothly. We value energetic professionals who thrive in fast-paced environments and are committed to delivering high-quality electrical solutions. Responsibilities Install, inspect, troubleshoot, and repair industrial and commercial electrical systems, ensuring adherence to NFPA 70 (National Fire Protection Association code) standards and local electrical codes. Read and interpret electrical blueprints, schematics, and wiring diagrams to accurately execute projects. Perform high-voltage electrical wiring tasks safely on construction sites and during renovations. Use hand tools, power tools, voltmeters, ohmmeters, and multimeters to diagnose electrical issues effectively. Conduct routine maintenance on electrical systems, including low voltage controls and programmable logic controllers (PLCs). Follow electrical safety procedures rigorously to prevent accidents and ensure a safe working environment for all team members. Collaborate with project managers and other tradespeople such as frame carpenters or electricians to complete projects efficiently. Troubleshoot complex electrical systems using diagnostic techniques and schematics reading skills. Assist in the installation of industrial electrical systems, including high-voltage wiring and low-voltage control circuits. Maintain detailed records of work performed, inspections completed, and parts used for each project. Qualifications Proven experience as a Journeyman Electrician with a strong background in industrial and commercial electrical work. Extensive knowledge of NFPA 70 (National Electrical Code), NEC (National Electrical Code), local electrical codes, and safety procedures. Demonstrated ability to read blueprints, schematics, wiring diagrams, and electrical schematics accurately. Proficiency in troubleshooting electrical systems using voltmeters, ohmmeters, multimeters, and other diagnostic tools. Experience working with industrial electrical systems—including high-voltage wiring—and performing installation or maintenance tasks on construction sites or during renovations. Familiarity with programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and low voltage control circuits is highly desirable. Ability to use hand tools such as wire strippers, screwdrivers, pliers; power tools; power drills; and testing equipment safely and effectively. Strong understanding of electrical safety procedures to ensure compliance with OSHA standards at all times. Construction site experience combined with the ability to read blueprints or schematics accurately is essential. Additional handyman skills such as frame carpentry or general repair experience are considered a plus but not required. Join us if you're ready to bring your expertise in industrial and commercial electrical systems into a vibrant environment where safety meets innovation!
