Position Overview The Master Electrician / Electrical Field Operations Supervisor will serve as the company's qualifying Master Electrician, subject to Michigan licensing requirements, while overseeing electrical field production, technical supervision, and code compliance. This individual will work directly with our General Manager, who oversees sales, customer relationships, business development, and our growing generator division. The ideal candidate is an experienced electrical professional who enjoys leading electricians, organizing field operations, solving technical challenges, and ensuring projects are completed safely, efficiently, and professionally. This is primarily a leadership and supervisory position with limited hands-on installation work as needed. Key Responsibilities Electrical Licensing & Code Compliance Serve as the company's designated qualifying Master Electrician in accordance with Michigan licensing requirements. Maintain an active Michigan Master Electrician license in good standing. Be actively responsible for electrical code compliance on company installations. Field Operations & Production Take responsibility for electrical projects after they have been sold and approved. Review project scopes, estimates, labor budgets, and installation requirements. Coordinate field schedules, employee assignments, and material readiness. Monitor job progress, labor efficiency, and project completion. Provide technical support and direction to field electricians. Conduct jobsite visits to ensure quality, safety, and productivity. Identify and resolve field challenges before they affect schedules or profitability. Coordinate final inspections and project closeout. Employee Supervision & Development Supervise and mentor journeyman electricians and apprentices. Establish clear expectations for workmanship, productivity, and professionalism. Assist with technical training and employee development. Implement consistent installation procedures and quality standards. Promote a safe, organized, and accountable working environment. Generator Operations Support Provide technical oversight for standby generator electrical installations. Assist with developing consistent generator installation standards. Support the General Manager in implementing our Cummins generator installation and service program. Assist with technical training and field installation procedures as needed. Operational Improvement Work closely with the General Manager and company ownership. Help improve scheduling, field productivity, and labor efficiency. Eligibility to serve as the qualifying Master Electrician for a Michigan electrical contractor. Extensive residential electrical experience. Strong understanding of applicable electrical codes and safety requirements. Ability to supervise electricians and coordinate field operations. Strong communication, organizational, and leadership skills. Valid driver's license. Preferred Previous electrical supervisory or field management experience. Experience with residential service upgrades, electrical troubleshooting, and standby generator installations. Familiarity with scheduling, labor budgets, and project management. Experience training and mentoring electricians. Experience with Cummins or other residential standby generator systems. What We Offer Competitive salary based on experience and qualifications. Leadership role within a growing residential electrical company. Opportunity to focus on technical supervision and field management rather than daily installation labor. Direct collaboration with company ownership and General Manager. Opportunity to help develop and improve company operations. Long-term professional growth opportunities. The Right Candidate We are looking for an experienced Master Electrician who takes ownership of their work, leads by example, and understands the importance of quality, efficiency, and accountability. This position may be especially attractive to an experienced electrician looking to transition away from physically demanding installation work while continuing to contribute their knowledge and leadership. If you enjoy helping electricians succeed, maintaining high workmanship standards, and being part of a growing company, we encourage you to apply. Apply today to join Current Craft Electric.
