Job Summary This position exists to perform skilled trades work in the maintenance, operation, and repair of, heating plants, cooling systems, air handling equipment, plumbing systems, electrical systems and services, building automation controls, and general commercial facility maintenance. These skilled repairs and maintenance procedures will be performed at multiple locations throughout the agencies Metro region. Employee is responsible for determining the best work methods, repair procedures and preventive maintenance schedules on multiple styles of building utility systems, varying by manufacturers and age of installed utility equipment. This position will act as the main point of contact for Armory Facility Managers and various vendors procured to provide services to the State of MN. This position may also act as lead for one or more maintenance personnel when assigned. Work will be completed in accordance with established industry standards, national and local regulations and codes, current and future agency procedures as well as verbal and electronic instructions from the regional supervisor. Qualifications Minimum Qualifications The following qualifications are required of all applicants seeking consideration for this position. Only applicants whose resumes clearly demonstrate fulfillment of each of these minimum qualifications will be considered for the position. Current Engineer License (2nd Class Grade C) Knowledge and experience of the operation and maintenance of variety of hot water heating plants and related water heating systems and components. Knowledge of and demonstrated experience in general methods and practices, equipment and materials of the mechanical, masonry, electrical, plumbing, carpentry and painting trades. Knowledge of building automation systems. Knowledge of facility maintenance software systems. Experience performing general maintenance and repair duties.

Ability to:

Ability to expertly perform service on LP gas, natural gas and oil burning systems. Ability to perform skilled work in a number of trades. Ability to make simple sketches and computations of material and labor costs to complete a project. Ability to perform work functions using ladders, lifts, and scaffolding. Ability to safely and effectively use hand and power tools and other trades equipment. Ability to travel on a regular basis from work location to assigned facilities. Ability to pass required background investigation to be granted access to MN ARNG network and issuance of DOD Common Access Card Must possess a valid Minnesota Driver's License (w/out restrictions). Preferred Qualifications The following qualifications are strongly desired of applicants seeking consideration for this position: Possess Electrical Power-Limited certification Experience with the JCI Metasys Building Automation System software. Experience with a facility maintenance management software system Possess current Universal Refrigeration License Possess 410-A Refrigerant License Physical Requirements Requires lifting objects and frequently lifting/carrying objects such as heavy tools, ladders and equipment. Job may require walking or standing to a significant degree on rough terrain and may involve sitting, crawling, bending and stooping with pushing and pulling of arms and/or leg controls. Ability to work in an environment which may include exposure to dust, noise, heat, moisture and adverse weather conditions such as heat, cold, snow, rain and/or wind.
