Job Summary We are seeking a skilled, dependable, and motivated Journeyman Electrician to join our growing team. This position is being added to support current and upcoming projects. We currently anticipate approximately 30-40 hours per week, however workload and scheduling may vary based on project volume and business needs. Duties Install, inspect, troubleshoot, and repair industrial and commercial electrical systems in accordance with the (NEC) National Electrical Code standards. Read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical diagrams to accurately execute wiring and system configurations. Diagnose electrical issues using tools such as multimeters, and other diagnostic equipment; develop effective troubleshooting strategies. Conduct routine inspections of electrical systems to identify potential hazards or failures; perform necessary repairs or upgrades promptly. Work on residential and commercial construction, renovation, service and troubleshooting projects. Ensure all work complies with NFPA 70 (National Fire Protection Association standards), NEC (National Electrical Code), and local electrical codes. Maintain detailed documentation of work performed, including inspection reports, system modifications, and safety compliance records. Qualifications Valid Minnesota Journeyman Electrician License in good standing. Demonstrated experience in residential, commercial, and service electrical work. Strong knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC), Minnesota electrical requirements, and industry best practices. Ability to read and interpret blueprints, electrical drawings, specifications, and wiring schematics. Proficiency in troubleshooting, diagnosing, and repairing electrical systems efficiently and safely. Experience installing and servicing electrical distribution systems, lighting, controls, branch circuits, low-voltage systems, and related equipment. Skilled in the safe use of hand tools, power tools, testing equipment, and diagnostic instruments. Strong commitment to workplace safety and maintaining compliance with company safety policies and procedures. Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and take ownership of assigned projects. Excellent communication and customer service skills with the ability to interact professionally with customers, coworkers, inspectors, suppliers, and subcontractors. Positive attitude, strong work ethic, and willingness to contribute to a team-oriented environment. Ability to mentor apprentices and support the development of less experienced team members. Dependable attendance, punctuality, and a commitment to representing the company professionally. Valid driver's license with a clean driving record and ability to travel to job sites throughout the Twin Cities. Ability to perform the physical requirements of the job, including climbing ladders, working in confined spaces, lifting materials and equipment, and standing for extended periods. Desire to continuously learn, grow professionally, and stay current with electrical codes, technologies, and industry standards. Preferred Qualifications Experience with generators, service upgrades, EV chargers, automation controls, or commercial tenant improvements. Previous experience leading projects, coordinating crews, or serving in a lead electrician role.
OSHA 10, OSHA
30, CPR, First Aid, or other relevant safety certifications. Pay:
$42.00 - $52.00 per hour Expected hours: 30.0 - 40.0 per week
