Job Description
Job Overview We are seeking a skilled and motivated Journeyman Electrician to join our dynamic team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing a wide range of electrical systems across residential, industrial, and commercial settings. Your expertise will ensure that electrical infrastructure operates safely, efficiently, and in compliance with all applicable codes and standards. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work on diverse projects, from new installations to renovations, utilizing your technical knowledge and hands-on skills to deliver top-quality electrical solutions. Duties Install, inspect, troubleshoot, and repair residential, and commercial electrical systems in accordance with local electrical codes and NFPA 70 (National Electrical Code) standards. Read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical diagrams to guide installation. Conduct electrical diagnostics using tools such as ohmmeters, multimeters, and other testing equipment to identify faults or inefficiencies. Follow strict electrical safety procedures to protect yourself and others during all phases of work, including working on construction sites or renovation projects. Use hand tools, power tools, and specialized equipment to complete wiring tasks efficiently while maintaining high standards of quality. Read electrical blueprints and schematics accurately to ensure precise installation or repair work aligned with project specifications. Experience Proven experience as a Journeyman Electrician with a strong background in residential and commercial electrical systems. Extensive knowledge of NFPA 70 (National Electrical Code) compliance requirements for safe electrical installations. Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot complex electrical systems using diagnostic tools like ohmmeters and multimeters. Hands-on experience working with high-voltage wiring, low voltage systems, schematics reading, and blueprint interpretation. Construction site experience including installation, renovation, or maintenance projects. Familiarity with local electrical codes and safety procedures essential for ensuring compliant work practices. Skilled in using power tools such as drills, multitools, and saws along with hand tools necessary for precise electrical work.
