Job Description

Promote the efficient use of electricity through providing information about the Cooperative and by conducting conservation and education programs for the members. Help promote usage of electrical heating equipment. This position will do residential and commercial wiring to promote the use of electrical equipment.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Maintain knowledge of Cooperative incentive programs by keeping members informed of Cooperative policies, operations, and other items of interest. To educate and inform the membership and assist members with electrical service problems and advises them on ways to solve their problems and conserve energy. Investigate, resolve and report member inquiries and complaints in a timely manner. Advise members of construction and conservation alternatives and Cooperative programs available to assist them in the efficient use of electric energy. Assist inmaintaining inventory of electrical equipment for the purpose of promoting the usage of electric energy. Maintain records of all electrical equipment and material, fills out charge tickets for work preformed for customers. Takes standby duty as assigned. Assists with the collection of past due accounts when requested. Promotes positive relationships with co-workers, Cooperative members and members of the Cooperatives Board of Trustees. Assist with installation of member meter loops and security lights. May require use of small bucket truck and man lifts Performs other duties as may be assigned by the supervisor.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
This position does not have supervisory responsibilities at this time. Assists with the training and monitoring of the apprentices
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
Must hold a valid Montana Journeyman license, four years of experience in electrical wiring, or equivalent of trade school and practical experience.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and articles converting technical information to a level understood by others with a less technical understanding. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from co-workers, clients, customers, and the general public.
REASONING ABILITY
Must have the ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, AND REGISTRATIONS
Must possess a valid Montana commercial driver's license. Must possess a Journeyman Electrician LicenseWiring certificate for the state of Montana.
OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Must be able to learn and maintain working knowledge of Co-op tools and equipment for use in performing job assignments. Thorough knowledge of public and customer relations; promotional techniques; working knowledge of personal computer systems; ability to communicate with co-workers and members in a courteous and professional manner; some knowledge of the rural electric programs; and some familiarity with the Cooperatives Policy and Service Rules and the National Electrical Safety Code would be desired.
