Job Description

THE POSITION
Join Wernersville State Hospital as an Electrician 1 and bring your skills to a place where your work makes a difference every day. You will help keep essential systems running smoothly while supporting the needs of patients and staff. DESCRIPTION OF WORK
This position plays a key role in maintaining, repairing, and improving electrical systems throughout the hospital. It supports safe operations through skilled planning, troubleshooting, and hands-on work. As an Electrician 1, you will perform the following duties:
Project Planning:
Review blueprints and determine the layout, sequence, and methods needed for electrical tasks
System Installation:
Install wiring, conduits, fixtures, and components for new construction and renovation projects
Technical Troubleshooting:
Identify electrical issues and work with technicians or contractors to resolve complex problems
Work Oversight:
Guide and instruct trainees and other employees during repair and installation work
Record Maintenance:
Update technical drawings and records to reflect changes made during projects
Safety Compliance:

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
Full-time employment Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday - Friday.
Telework:
You will not have the option to telework in this position.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
Successful completion of the Electrician Trainee program (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or Four years of experience installing, repairing, and maintaining electrical systems, components, and equipment; or An equivalent combination of experience and training.
Special Requirements:
This position requires possession of a valid license as a journey-level electrician issued by the local Pennsylvania jurisdiction. This position requires possession of an active motor vehicle license.
Other Requirements:
