Job Description

Thomas & Sons Electrical Contractor is hiring an experienced Service Electrician who enjoys solving problems, working with customers, and being part of a strong team. This is a Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM role with $25 to $30 per hour base pay plus performance pay. Expected total earning potential is $75,000 to $125,000+. This role is built for an electrician who knows the trade, likes working with people, and wants more than running from call to call. You will have variety in your day. You will diagnose problems, talk with homeowners, build repair options, complete quality electrical work, and own the customer experience from start to finish. You will also work closely with the owner and the rest of the team. Your ideas matter here. If you see a better way to serve a customer, improve a process, or solve a problem, we want you to speak up.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
Run residential and light commercial service calls Troubleshoot and diagnose electrical problems Ask customers questions to understand what they need and what matters to them Explain electrical issues in a way customers can understand Build and present clear repair and replacement options Discuss pricing confidently and professionally Complete repairs with clean, detailed workmanship Maintain strong safety and quality standards on every job Keep customers informed throughout the service call Document work, findings, photos, and recommendations Work with the office and field team to keep jobs moving Look for ways to improve the customer experience and the way work gets done
HOW WE SELL
We do not want someone who pressures customers into work they do not need. Our process is simple. Find the problem. Ask good questions. Educate the customer. Give clear options. Let the customer make an informed decision. Do great work. You should be comfortable selling, but you should never need to choose between making a sale and doing the right thing.
WHO WILL DO WELL HERE
You may be a strong fit if you: Like talking with customers and building trust Enjoy working with a team but can take ownership of your calls Move with urgency and do not need someone pushing you all day Like variety and solving different problems Notice details other people miss Take pride in clean, professional work Can explain technical problems without making them complicated Are comfortable presenting options and asking for the work Want clear standards but also want your ideas heard Want to grow as the company grows
WHAT MAKES THOMAS & SONS DIFFERENT
We are privately owned. We are not owned by private equity, and we are not a large corporate operation. Our owner is a multi-generational electrician who understands what it is like to work in the field. You will interact with him regularly. We also believe you should be able to build a strong career without giving your entire life to work. Our normal schedule is Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Kids have games. Families have plans. Life should be enjoyed. We want our electricians to make good money, do work they are proud of, and still have a life outside of the van.
