Draper, UT Job Details Temporary $34 an hour 6 hours ago Qualifications Digital multimeters Circuit testing Electrical License Electrical power distribution management Outdoor work experience Electrical work Electrical system maintenance management Equipment troubleshooting Electrical systems Power distribution systems Journeyman Electrician Voltage testers Electrical diagnostics Electrical maintenance Multimeters Full Job Description License & Qualification Requirements Valid electrician license required Approximately 3 years of relevant experience preferred Proficient in using multimeters, clamp meters, and insulation testers for circuit diagnostics and issue handling Previous experience with temporary electrical systems, outdoor lighting, event lighting, or similar electrical maintenance is preferred Comfortable working outdoors in cold and windy conditions during the show period Ability to perform both electrical troubleshooting and light physical repairs Flexible availability for weather-related on-call repairs. Scope of Work Electrical Operations & Troubleshooting Connect finished lantern wiring and operate power plugs for pre-installed lantern groups. Manage temporary power loads to prevent tripping, troubleshoot open/short circuits, and perform on-site malfunction repairs. Keep displays running properly. This role focuses strictly on temporary festival lantern setups — no modification to the building's permanent panels or fixed wiring.
Power-on timing:
Lanterns may only be turned on after the venue has been cleared of daytime visitors. This typically occurs around 5:00PM.
Power-off timing:
Lanterns must be turned off only after venue staff confirm no visitors remain on site. This typically occurs around 10:15 PM. Check all lanterns and fix minor damages after closing if needed. Safety & Structural Inspections Conduct routine pre-show checks on lantern displays for structural stability Inspect wind-bracing integrity On-Site Maintenance & Venue Collaboration Perform hands-on physical repairs on lantern sets as needed, including non-electrical tasks such as reshaping/realigning minor deformed lantern frames and re-gluing or re-securing loose fabric coverings torn or detached by wind. Patrol the grounds during show hours, log issues, and report to the onsite coordinator. Actively cooperate with and execute all operational, safety, and site-specific work requirements issued by the venue.
Schedule Show dates:
11/6/2026 - 1/9/2027 Operational hours: Daily shift runs approximately 4:30 PM-10:30 PM, covering pre-show inspections, show-time maintenance, and after-show closing-off.
Closed days:
Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, and New Year's Eve.
Compensation Hourly Rate :
$34/hour; licensed electrician required
