Utah | Full-Time | Monday-Friday Join the 1Solar Team 1Solar is a growing residential solar and energy company seeking an experienced Journeyman Electrician or Residential Journeyman (RW) to join our Utah field team. This position is ideal for an electrician who takes pride in quality workmanship, can troubleshoot electrical systems, and is comfortable leading field installations. You will work on residential solar PV, battery storage, electrical service, system upgrades, and troubleshooting projects throughout Utah. Verify crews have the necessary materials and equipment before leaving for projects. Help maintain organized company vehicles, tools, and inventory. Electrical Installations Lead and perform residential electrical work associated with solar PV and battery storage installations. Complete wire runs, conduit installation and bending, equipment mounting, terminations, electrical setup, and job-site cleanup. Install and work with electrical panels, breakers, disconnects, service equipment, and related components. Ensure installations meet applicable electrical codes, manufacturer requirements, company standards, and safety requirements. Assist with rooftop solar and battery installations when necessary. Service & Troubleshooting Perform service calls to assess and diagnose electrical and solar-related issues. Troubleshoot electrical circuits, equipment, wiring, and system performance. Identify short circuits, wiring issues, equipment failures, and other electrical problems. Complete necessary repairs and verify proper system operation before leaving the job site. Team Leadership Lead and work alongside electricians, apprentices, solar installers, and battery technicians. Provide direction and hands-on training to apprentice electricians. Help ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, on schedule, and according to company quality standards. Communicate job-site issues, material needs, change orders, and project delays to field and operations leadership. Blueprint & Electrical Plan Interpretation Read and interpret electrical plans, blueprints, one-line diagrams, manufacturer specifications, and installation documentation. Use project plans to determine appropriate installation methods, equipment placement, wiring, and conduit pathways. Identify field conditions that may require modifications or change orders. Wire & Conduit Work Measure, cut, bend, and install conduit. Determine and prepare appropriate wire and conduit pathways. Pull, terminate, and connect electrical conductors. Complete proper wire terminations and electrical connections. Assist with control wiring and circuits as required. Documentation Upload required job-site photos and documentation into the customer database. Maintain accurate and detailed job notes. Document electrical issues, repairs, and completed work. Submit written documentation for change orders and additional work when required. Ensure project records are complete before closing out assigned work. Qualifications & ExperienceRequired Active Utah Journeyman Electrician License or Residential Journeyman Electrician (RW) License. Must be able to provide proof of current, active licensure. Strong residential electrical installation experience. Ability to read and interpret electrical plans, blueprints, and diagrams. Experience with conduit bending, wire pulling, terminations, electrical panels, breakers, and disconnects. Strong electrical troubleshooting and diagnostic skills. Ability to lead and supervise field crews and apprentice electricians. Knowledge of applicable electrical codes and safe work practices. Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record. Ability to work independently and as part of a field team. Preferred Previous solar PV installation or service experience. Residential battery storage installation experience. Experience with Tesla Powerwall, SolarEdge, Enphase, Fortress, or similar battery and solar equipment. Experience troubleshooting existing residential solar systems. Experience training or supervising apprentice electricians. Physical & Work Requirements Ability to work on residential rooftops and in attics and other confined spaces. Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions. Ability to climb ladders and safely work at heights. Ability to lift, carry, and maneuver electrical equipment, tools, and materials. Ability to perform physically demanding field work throughout the workday. Travel to residential job sites throughout the assigned Utah service area is required.
