Job Overview We are seeking an experienced Estimator to join our estimating team in the commercial roofing construction industry. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in commercial roofing and construction estimating, with a proven ability to develop accurate cost estimates and manage time efficiently. This role is crucial for ensuring that our projects are completed on time and within budget while maintaining high-quality standards. Duties Preparation of detailed cost estimates for construction projects, ensuring accuracy and completeness. Utilize software tools such as Bluebeam to facilitate efficient estimating processes. Collaborate with project managers and other stakeholders to gather necessary information for accurate pricing. Conduct thorough reviews of contract documents, specifications, and drawings to identify project requirements. Implement cost control measures to monitor expenses throughout the project lifecycle. Build strong relationships with subcontractors and suppliers to negotiate favorable pricing and terms. Work with estimating team in continually developing best practices and standard operating procedures for estimating processes. Participate in construction site visits to gain insights into project scope and requirements. Requirements Proven experience in construction estimating, with a strong understanding of contract management. Proficiency in estimating software, particularly Bluebeam and Xactimate. Solid knowledge of cost control principles and practices in the construction industry. Excellent negotiation skills with the ability to build rapport with subcontractors, suppliers and clients. Strong analytical skills with attention to detail, ensuring accuracy in all estimates. Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment while also demonstrating leadership capabilities. Familiarity with construction management processes and site operations is preferred. A degree in Construction Management or a related field is advantageous but not mandatory.
