Full-Time The Estimator is responsible for preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates for structural steel, miscellaneous metals, stainless steel, and aluminum fabrication and installation projects within the Aluma-Line Division. This position reviews construction drawings, specifications, and bid documents; prepares detailed material takeoffs; evaluates labor and material costs; and develops comprehensive project proposals. The Estimator works closely with Engineering, Purchasing, Production, and Construction Project Management to ensure accurate pricing, timely bid submissions, and an effective transition of awarded projects into construction. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Review architectural and structural drawings, specifications, submittals, and construction bid documents to determine project requirements. Prepare detailed material takeoffs and cost estimates for structural steel, miscellaneous metals, stainless steel, and aluminum fabrication and installation projects. Estimate labor, materials, equipment, freight, rentals, subcontractors, and installation costs. Obtain, review, and compare vendor and subcontractor quotations. Prepare and submit competitive bids, proposals, and change order estimates within established deadlines. Identify potential project risks, discrepancies, and cost-saving opportunities during the estimating process. Coordinate with Engineering to clarify drawings, specifications, and technical requirements. Collaborate with Purchasing and Production to verify material pricing, availability, fabrication requirements, and production schedules. Work closely with the Construction Project Manager to prepare, coordinate, and track project submittals, including shop drawings, product data, material specifications, and required documentation. Coordinate with Engineering and other departments to ensure submittals are accurate, complete, and submitted within established deadlines. Assist the Construction Project Manager with submittal revisions, approvals, and follow-up documentation as needed. Ensure a complete and accurate handoff of awarded projects to the Construction Project Manager, including estimates, scope of work, project documentation, and relevant bid information. Maintain organized and accurate estimating records, bid logs, pricing documentation, submittals, and project files. Communicate professionally with general contractors, customers, suppliers, subcontractors, and internal departments. Attend pre-bid meetings, project discussions, and occasional job-site visits as required. Monitor bid deadlines and maintain follow-up communication regarding submitted proposals. Assist with evaluating project changes and preparing revised estimates when necessary. Perform other related duties as assigned. Required Qualifications Previous experience estimating structural steel, miscellaneous metals, or metal fabrication projects. Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, architectural plans, structural plans, and technical specifications. Knowledge of metal fabrication, installation methods, materials, and labor requirements. Experience preparing material takeoffs, cost estimates, and construction bid proposals. Strong mathematical, analytical, and problem-solving skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other standard business software. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to manage multiple estimates and meet established deadlines. Strong written and verbal English communication skills. Ability to work independently and collaboratively with multiple departments. Pay:

$70,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
