Job Summary Radco, Inc. is hiring an Estimator in Brawley, California to price civil construction work in the Imperial and Coachella Valleys. You will prepare bid estimates for grading, earthwork, wet utilities, and site preparation, then turn awarded work into a budget the field can run. The role is estimating first, with enough project follow-through to keep the number honest after the job starts. A company truck and health insurance are provided. Duties Develop cost estimates for grading, excavation, underground wet utilities, and site-prep packages by reviewing plans, specifications, and geotech reports in Bluebeam and estimating software. Price labor, equipment, material, trucking, and subcontract scopes from how the work will be built. Review drawings for quantities, scope gaps, exclusions, and risk before the bid is submitted. Solicit and level quotes from subcontractors and suppliers and negotiate pricing. Prepare bid proposals, schedules, and spreadsheets, then convert a won bid into a project budget. Track job cost and price change orders when the scope changes. Visit active work often enough to confirm the estimate still matches field production, safety, and quality. Qualifications Prior estimating experience in civil, site work, underground, or heavy construction is required. Commercial building-only experience is not a match. References who can confirm the estimates you personally priced and the outcome of those bids. Proficiency in Bluebeam, or equivalent takeoff software, and strong Excel. Ability to read civil plans, profiles, details, specifications, and contracts. Skill negotiating with subcontractors, vendors, and suppliers. Working knowledge of unit-price bidding, cost control, and budget setup. Construction site experience so production rates are based on real crews and equipment. Clear communication with the project team, subs, and clients. A company truck and health insurance are part of the package. Apply with a resume, references, and two or three bids you personally priced, including project type, your role, and whether the job was awarded.
