We are an established commercial HVAC contractor located in Hemet, CA looking to add a Commercial HVAC Estimator to our team. We are open to candidates at multiple experience levels, from a motivated junior estimator who wants to learn and grow within the commercial HVAC industry to an experienced or senior estimator who can independently manage complete estimates and larger commercial projects. For junior-level candidates, training will be provided in HVAC estimating, blueprint reading, duct and piping takeoffs, vendor pricing, labor estimating, bid preparation, and proposal writing. Experienced candidates will be expected to take on greater responsibility based on their knowledge, estimating ability, and the size and complexity of projects they can manage independently. Responsibilities Responsibilities may vary based on experience level and may include: Review construction drawings, blueprints, specifications, addenda, and bid documents Perform quantity takeoffs for HVAC ductwork, piping, equipment, materials, and accessories Utilize estimating and takeoff software to measure and quantify project scope Request pricing from equipment vendors, material suppliers, and subcontractors Review vendor and subcontractor proposals for scope and completeness Develop labor, material, equipment, and subcontractor costs Prepare detailed and organized project estimates Identify scope gaps, exclusions, clarifications, and potential project risks Prepare professional bid proposals and written scope descriptions Communicate with vendors, subcontractors, general contractors, project managers, and internal team members Write clear and professional emails regarding pricing, scope, clarifications, and project requirements Manage multiple estimates and deadlines at the same time Maintain organized estimating files and documentation Participate in estimate reviews and project handoff meetings Assist with budgeting, design-build, and conceptual estimates as experience allows Senior-level candidates may also assist with larger or more complex estimates, review the work of junior estimators, develop conceptual budgets, and help improve estimating standards and procedures.

Strong computer skills Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel Ability to write clear and professional emails Strong verbal and written communication skills Ability to read and understand construction drawings and blueprints, or the ability and willingness to learn Strong reading comprehension Basic math and analytical skills Strong attention to detail Good organizational and time-management skills Ability to work independently for extended periods Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines Ability to communicate effectively with coworkers, vendors, subcontractors, and customers Professional, dependable, and punctual work habits Willingness to learn, retain, and apply new information Preferred Experience The following experience is highly desirable but is not required for all candidates: Commercial HVAC estimating experience HVAC field, project management, project engineering, or construction experience Experience reading mechanical plans and specifications Experience with ductwork takeoff Experience with piping takeoff Experience estimating HVAC equipment, sheet metal, piping, insulation, controls, or subcontracted work Experience with QuoteSoft Experience with any duct takeoff or mechanical estimating software Experience with Bluebeam or similar PDF takeoff software Experience reviewing Division 23 specifications Experience preparing commercial HVAC proposals, clarifications, and exclusions Experience developing labor and material budgets Experience with design-build or conceptual estimating QuoteSoft or other duct takeoff experience would be a significant plus. $60,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
