We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Chief Construction Estimator to join our dynamic team. Join a younger leadership team that is making an impact in the region. With 60 years of experience, the $100M Heavy Civil Contractor needs a strong Chief Estimator. In this role, you will be responsible for preparing accurate and detailed cost estimates for construction projects, ensuring that all aspects of the project are accounted for. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in construction management and estimating, with the ability to build relationships with clients and subcontractors to negotiate favorable terms. - Executive Level Benefits and Insurance 401K w/ Matching PTO Relocation Assistance Duties Prepare comprehensive cost estimates for various construction projects, including materials, labor, and overhead costs.
Analyze blueprints and other project documents to identify potential issues and ensure accurate pricing. Collaborate with project managers to develop budgets and timelines, ensuring alignment with project goals. Conduct site visits to assess conditions and gather necessary information for accurate estimating. Negotiate contracts with suppliers and subcontractors to secure the best pricing and terms. Monitor project costs throughout the construction process to maintain cost control and ensure adherence to budgets. Utilize software tools such as HCSS (Heavy Bid) for effective estimating and project management. Provide support during the bidding process by preparing bid packages and responding to inquiries from bidders. Experience with supervision and managing client relationships Skills Strong knowledge of construction estimating principles and practices. Proficiency in project management techniques related to construction projects. Ability to build relationships with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers effectively. Excellent negotiation skills to secure favorable contract terms. Familiarity with cost control measures in a construction environment. Experience working on construction sites, understanding site conditions and requirements. Proficient in using estimating software, particularly HCSS, for efficient project management. Strong analytical skills with attention to detail for accurate pricing assessments. Experience with oversight work of Project Engineers and Estimators.
