Local Electric LLC is looking for an Estimator who can bring accuracy, organization, and sharp commercial pricing to our growing project side.

ABOUT LOCAL ELECTRIC

Local Electric LLC is a growing electrical contractor based in Evergreen, Colorado. We are focused on quality workmanship, safety, strong customer relationships, and operational excellence. We are building a highly efficient, process driven company and we are looking for a skilled estimator to help drive accurate pricing, a strong bid pipeline, and profitable growth.

THE ROLE

This is a primarily in-office role focused on commercial estimating, with residential project work in the mix. You will spend your days in plans, takeoffs, pricing, and proposals, and get out to site walks and pre-bid meetings when needed. You will be the link between our customers, suppliers, and project team at the front end of every job. Your job is to help us bid the right work, price it accurately, follow up consistently, and hand off clean so we build what we bid.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

OWN the Bid

• Perform takeoffs and estimates for commercial and residential projects in Accubid
• Review plans, specifications, addenda, and scopes of work
• Get and compare supplier and subcontractor pricing
• Write clear proposals with defined inclusions and exclusions Keep the Pipeline Moving
• Maintain the bid log: open bids, due dates, and quotes owed
• Follow up every quote the day it goes out and again within two business days
• Build strong relationships with general contractors, builders, and developers
• Report on open bids at our Monday and Friday team meetings Protect Profitability
• Price change orders accurately and quickly
• Hand off awarded jobs to the Project Manager with a clean budget and scope
• Review back costing and sharpen our labor units and pricing
• Identify leaks in pricing, labor, materials, or scope Improve the Systems
• Help move us from paper takeoff to digital on-screen takeoff
• Build and maintain our estimating database
• Document how we estimate so it belongs to the company

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

• 2+ years of electrical estimating experience required, commercial experience strongly preferred
• Strong working knowledge of the NEC and the ability to read plans and specifications
• Experience with Accubid (Classic preferred) or similar estimating software and digital takeoff tools
• Experience with BobYard Take off a big plus
• Field experience as an electrician or a Colorado electrical license is a plus
• Comfortable using Microsoft 365, especially Excel; experience with Housecall Pro and QuickBooks Online is a plus
• Organized, detail oriented, and able to juggle multiple bid deadlines without dropping the ball

WORK ENVIRONMENT

• In office Monday through Friday with site walks and pre-bid meetings as needed

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

• Competitive salary based on experience; Range of $80,000 - $95,000.00 with a performance bonus opportunity.
