$140,000 - $150,000A premier mechanical construction contractor is seeking an experienced Chief Estimator to lead its preconstruction and estimating operations. This high-impact leadership role is responsible for overseeing estimating strategy, guiding project planning efforts, and driving proactive approaches to cost management, scheduling, and risk assessment across a diverse portfolio of construction projects.

Key ResponsibilitiesLead the preparation and review of detailed construction estimates and budgets.

Analyze drawings, specifications, and contract documents to develop complete project pricing.

Evaluate labor, material, equipment, subcontractor, and risk costs.

Develop bid strategies, proposal clarifications, and value-engineering recommendations.

Coordinate with project management, operations, engineers, vendors, and subcontractors throughout the bid process.

Attend client meetings, job walks, and pre-bid conferences.

Oversee estimate reviews and ensure all proposals are complete and accurate prior to submission.

Mentor and develop estimating personnel while improving estimating processes and best practices.

Support project handoff by providing detailed estimate breakdowns and project insights.

Qualifications15+ years of estimating experience within mechanical, HVAC, plumbing, sheet metal, or piping construction.

Proven ability to lead estimates for large, complex commercial or industrial projects.

Strong understanding of construction means and methods, labor productivity, and cost controls.

Knowledge of HVAC, piping, plumbing, and mechanical systems.

Familiarity with IPC, IMC, IFC, and related industry codes.

Proficiency with estimating software and Microsoft Office Suite.

Excellent leadership, communication, and relationship-management skills.

Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred.
