In this role, you will lead the estimation process for commercial construction projects, develop accurate budgets, and manage projects from inception to completion. Your expertise will ensure competitive pricing, effective cost control, and seamless communication with clients and subcontractors. The ideal candidate is proactive, highly organized, and passionate about delivering quality results on time and within budget. Duties Prepare detailed project estimates by reviewing blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications to determine material requirements and labor costs. Utilize estimating software such as Electrical Bid Manager and construction management tools like Bluebeam to develop accurate bids and proposals. Manage the entire project estimation process, including cost analysis, quantity takeoffs, and pricing strategies for commercial construction projects. Negotiate with suppliers, subcontractors, and clients to secure favorable terms while maintaining project profitability. Oversee project budgets by tracking costs throughout the construction process, ensuring adherence to financial targets through effective cost management and cost control techniques. Review construction drawings thoroughly to interpret technical details, identify potential issues, and suggest value engineering solutions. Coordinate with project teams on contract review, scope of work clarification, and scheduling to ensure smooth project execution from start to finish. Communicate regularly with clients to provide updates on project estimates, timelines, and budget considerations while fostering strong professional relationships. Lead efforts in material cost estimating and procurement planning by accurately estimating material requirements from blueprints and managing material pricing strategies. Maintain comprehensive records of all estimation activities, project documentation, change orders, and correspondence for transparency and accountability. Skills Proficiency in Bluebeam Revu for digital blueprint reading and markup. Strong negotiation skills with the ability to secure advantageous terms for materials and subcontractors. Experience using Electrical Bid Manager or similar estimating software for large-scale commercial projects. Demonstrated success managing construction projects as an estimator or project manager within the construction industry. Expertise in construction management software such as Procore or Viewpoint for project coordination. Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite including Excel spreadsheets for data analysis and reporting. Ability to read and interpret complex construction drawings accurately. Skilled in cost management techniques including cost control, budgeting, and financial reporting. Deep understanding of construction estimating processes for commercial projects across various sectors. Practical experience with blueprint review, technical drawing interpretation, and estimating material quantities from blueprints. Strong client communication skills with a focus on transparency and professionalism. Construction site experience that enhances understanding of field conditions impacting estimates and project execution. Knowledge of contracts, legal considerations in construction agreements, and project management principles to ensure comprehensive oversight throughout each phase.
