Job Summary We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Commercial Landscape Construction Estimator to join our team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for accurately preparing cost estimates for large-scale landscape construction projects, ensuring competitive pricing while maintaining quality standards. Duties Review and interpret detailed construction drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications related to commercial landscape projects. Prepare comprehensive estimates by analyzing material requirements, labor costs, equipment needs, and subcontractor quotes using estimating software such as HeavyBid or similar tools. Utilize construction management software and Bluebeam to review plans, annotate documents, and streamline estimating processes. Conduct material cost estimating and pricing analysis to develop accurate project budgets aligned with client expectations. Manage project estimates by tracking costs, adjusting scopes as needed, and ensuring adherence to budget constraints through effective cost control strategies. Communicate clearly with clients, suppliers, and internal teams to negotiate prices, clarify scope details, and ensure alignment on project deliverables. Review construction drawings thoroughly to identify potential challenges or discrepancies early in the estimating process. Assist in managing project timelines by coordinating with project managers and ensuring all estimates reflect realistic schedules and resource allocations. Support project management activities by providing detailed cost breakdowns, tracking changes, and updating estimates as projects evolve. Experience Proven experience in managing projects as a construction estimator within the commercial landscape or general construction industry. Strong background in estimating for commercial construction projects with a focus on landscape or site development work. Extensive knowledge of construction estimating software such as HeavyBid, Xactimate, or similar platforms. Proficiency in Bluebeam for plan review and markup; experience with construction management software is a plus. Skilled in blueprint reading, interpreting technical drawings, and estimating material requirements from blueprints accurately. Demonstrated ability in negotiation with suppliers and subcontractors to secure competitive pricing while maintaining quality standards. Familiarity with cost management practices including material cost estimating, cost control techniques, and budgeting for large-scale projects. Excellent communication skills for client interaction and team collaboration; experience in managing multiple projects simultaneously is preferred. Construction site experience combined with strong project management skills will be highly valued for this role.
