Delta has been retained by a well-established electrical contractor in the Chicagoland area to identify a detail-oriented and technically minded Electrical Estimating Coordinator . Our confidential client serves commercial, government, educational, healthcare and industrial customers. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with electrical construction experience who wants to build a long-term career in estimating. Position Summary The Estimating Coordinator will research and track public- and private-sector bidding opportunities while providing administrative and technical support to the sales and estimating teams. This individual will serve as a key link among estimators, manufacturers, vendors and subcontractors—helping ensure project requirements are understood, accurately quoted and properly documented from the initial opportunity through estimate completion. Key Responsibilities Monitor public and private procurement portals for new bidding opportunities. Identify projects that align with the company's capabilities and target markets. Maintain the opportunity pipeline, bid calendar and estimating schedule. Track bid deadlines, mandatory pre-bid meetings, addenda and proposal requirements. Review solicitation documents and summarize key scope, compliance and submission requirements. Read and interpret electrical drawings, plans and specifications. Obtain and organize vendor and subcontractor pricing for: Lighting fixtures Electrical distribution equipment Electrical materials and supplies Specialty electrical systems Subcontracted scopes of work Collect required certifications, qualifications and supporting documentation. Coordinate with manufacturers' representatives, suppliers, subcontractors and estimators. Follow up on outstanding quotes and confirm pricing is received before bid deadlines. Maintain accurate bid logs, project files and document-control systems. Assist with proposal preparation, submission and business-development activities. Help ensure all bids are complete, compliant and submitted on time. Qualifications One to three years of electrical construction, estimating, project coordination or construction administration experience. Ability to read and interpret electrical plans and specifications. Experience researching opportunities and monitoring procurement or bidding portals. Understanding of bid schedules, proposal requirements and construction documentation. Strong attention to detail and follow-through. Excellent organizational and time-management skills. Ability to manage multiple bids, projects and deadlines simultaneously. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Proficiency with Microsoft Excel is required. Proficiency with Word, Outlook and document-management systems. Experience with electrical estimating or bid-management software is preferred. Dependable, proactive and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment. Consistent employment history. Education A degree in construction management, engineering or a related field is preferred. Relevant electrical construction or estimating experience will also be considered. Compensation Compensation is competitive and commensurate with experience.
