Job Overview We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Estimator to join our dynamic construction team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates for commercial construction projects, ensuring competitive pricing while maintaining quality standards. Your expertise will help drive project success from initial bidding through to project completion, supporting our commitment to delivering exceptional results on time and within budget. Responsibilities Review and interpret construction drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications to accurately determine project scope and material requirements Develop detailed cost estimates using estimating software such as HeavyBid and other construction management tools Analyze material costs, labor rates, subcontractor quotes, and equipment expenses to compile comprehensive budgets Collaborate with clients, subcontractors, suppliers, and internal teams through effective negotiation to secure competitive pricing and favorable contract terms Manage multiple projects simultaneously by tracking costs, updating estimates, and ensuring alignment with project objectives Conduct site visits when necessary to gather on-site data, verify existing conditions, and refine estimates accordingly Prepare detailed bid proposals, including scope of work, pricing breakdowns, and risk assessments for submission Skills Proficiency with Bluebeam for markup review and document management Strong negotiation skills with subcontractors, vendors, and clients to optimize costs Experience with estimating software such as HeavyBid or equivalent tools for accurate project costing Solid understanding of construction management software platforms and Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Word) for data analysis and reporting Expertise in blueprint reading, interpreting technical drawings, and reviewing construction documents Ability to estimate material requirements from blueprints accurately and manage cost control throughout the project lifecycle Knowledge of construction industry standards, contracts, and legal considerations related to estimating processes Construction site experience coupled with a background in commercial construction estimation is highly desirable Familiarity with Xactimate or similar estimating tools is a plus for comprehensive cost analysis Join us if you're passionate about shaping successful projects through precise estimation!
