Skills & Qualifications Soft Skills:
Self-Motivation & Initiative:
Drive sales, manage your daily and weekly calendar, and prioritize tasks efficiently with minimal oversight.
Professionalism & Client Relations:
Serve as a trusted advisor to homeowners, maintaining a positive, friendly demeanor and strong written/verbal communication.
Detail Orientation & Accuracy:
Thoroughly assess job sites, read blueprints, and construct precise estimates under tight timelines without sacrificing quality.
Collaboration & Communication:
Work seamlessly with clients, project managers, crew leaders, subcontractors, and office administrative personnel to keep projects moving forward smoothly.
Punctuality & Reliability:
Show up on time for initial consultations and follow through consistently on client commitments.
Hard Skills:
Read and interpret blueprints, plans, architectural drawings, and project specifications. Prepare detailed, accurate material and labor cost estimates for residential and commercial projects. Utilize estimating and office software tools (Excel, Microsoft Office Suite, Google Workspace). Conduct thorough on-site assessments for siding, windows, doors, roofing, decks, kitchens, bathrooms, and room additions. Coordinate material orders and organize job-site deliveries with suppliers. Manage sales pipeline and follow up with leads through the construction execution phase. What We Are Looking For? Every project presents unique structural conditions and client expectations that require critical thinking, industry knowledge, and strong interpersonal skills. We require a polished professional demeanor, strong personal integrity, and an eagerness to continually learn our building standards. Previous sales or estimating experience in residential construction is preferred, but Thayer's is willing to train the right candidate with strong general construction background.
Requirements:
Proven experience in residential construction, remodeling, or estimating preferred (willing to train qualified candidates). Valid driver's license with a clean driving record. Ability to maneuver and safely climb ladders to inspect roofs, as well as lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
Compensation & Benefits Salary:
