In-office Marty Jones Exteriors is seeking a motivated Estimator to support our siding and masonry estimating operations. This is an in-office position focused on completing material takeoffs, reviewing construction drawings and assisting our Senior Estimator with preparing accurate, competitive proposals. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with field construction experience who wants to transition into estimating and develop a long-term career with a growing exterior construction company. Responsibilities Review architectural plans, specifications and project documents Complete detailed siding and masonry quantity takeoffs Assist the Senior Estimator with pricing, scopes of work and proposal preparation Identify missing information, scope conflicts and potential project risks Request and organize pricing from suppliers and subcontractors Maintain estimating files, bid documents and project records Track bid invitations, deadlines, addenda and proposal submissions Communicate with project managers, general contractors, suppliers and field personnel Attend pre-bid meetings and occasional jobsite visits when necessary Help transfer awarded projects from estimating to operations Ideal Candidate The ideal candidate has three to five years of construction-industry experience, preferably in one or more of the following positions: Foreman or site supervisor Assistant project manager Project coordinator Field superintendent or construction lead Estimating or preconstruction assistant Direct estimating experience is helpful but not required. We are especially interested in candidates who understand how construction work is actually performed and are ready to apply that field knowledge to estimating. Qualifications Three to five years of relevant construction experience preferred Ability to read and interpret architectural drawings and specifications General understanding of construction sequencing, materials and labor Experience with siding, masonry, exterior construction or building-envelope systems is strongly preferred Strong math, measurement and organizational skills Comfortable working with computers, spreadsheets and digital construction documents Ability to manage multiple bids and meet firm deadlines Strong written and verbal communication skills Detail-oriented, dependable and willing to learn Experience with digital takeoff or estimating software is a plus What We Offer Opportunity to learn directly from an experienced Senior Estimator Structured growth into a full Estimator position Stable, professional, in-office work environment Competitive compensation based on experience Exposure to a variety of siding, masonry and exterior construction projects Benefits and paid time off based on company policy If you have hands-on construction knowledge, understand how projects come together and want to build a career in estimating, we encourage you to apply.
