This is a unique opportunity for someone looking to build a long-term career in the commercial HVAC industry. The position will initially focus on administrative and project support responsibilities while the successful candidate is trained in our estimating process. As knowledge and experience develop, the role will transition toward increased estimating, takeoff, and business development responsibilities. Primary Responsibilities The initial administrative and project support responsibilities will include: Filing, scanning, organizing, and maintaining company and project documents Assisting Project Managers with project documentation and administrative requirements Setting up and maintaining electronic project files Processing and organizing drawings, specifications, reports, and other project documents Assisting with bid invitations and project tracking Communicating professionally with customers, contractors, vendors, and members of our field team Providing general administrative support to the office and management team Estimator Training & Development The selected candidate will receive hands-on training in commercial HVAC estimating and Testing, Adjusting & Balancing (TAB).
Training will include:
Reading and understanding mechanical drawings and specifications Performing quantity takeoffs from construction drawings Identifying HVAC equipment and systems Reviewing project specifications to determine Testing & Balancing requirements Developing project scopes and estimating labor requirements Preparing estimates and proposals Tracking bid opportunities and proposal status Learning our estimating and project management processes Communicating with mechanical contractors and other customers regarding bid opportunities As the employee progresses, estimating responsibilities will become a larger portion of the position. Business Development & Customer Outreach This position will also assist with growing our customer base by: Researching potential new customers and mechanical contractors Reaching out to prospective customers to introduce Balancing Technologies Working to have BTI added to contractor bid lists Following up on bidding opportunities and proposals Maintaining customer and prospective customer information Helping develop and maintain long-term customer relationships What We Are Looking For We are looking for someone who is: Highly organized and detail-oriented Comfortable working with computers and learning new software Professional in written and verbal communication Comfortable speaking with customers by phone and email Able to manage multiple projects and deadlines Willing and eager to learn the technical side of the HVAC industry Able to work independently while also being part of a team Dependable and willing to take ownership of assigned responsibilities Previous HVAC, construction, estimating, or blueprint-reading experience is helpful but not required . We are willing to train the right person. Experience with Microsoft Office, Adobe PDF software, construction drawings, estimating software, or project management software is a plus.
