Job Overview We are looking for an experienced civil construction professional to join our team and play a key role in estimating and preparing projects for construction. This position is ideal for someone with hands-on knowledge of excavation and civil construction who is comfortable working with CAD, digital takeoffs, estimating, and GPS machine-control technology.

Primary Responsibilities:

Perform detailed quantity takeoffs for civil and excavation projects using CAD and digital takeoff software. Prepare competitive bids and estimates for earthwork, utilities, site development, and other civil construction work. Review plans, specifications, and project documents to identify scope, quantities, materials, and potential issues. Build and manage Topcon GPS/machine-control files for field equipment. Work with field personnel to ensure GPS files and project information accurately reflect the construction plans. Coordinate with suppliers, subcontractors, general contractors, and project owners as needed during the estimating and bidding process. Assist with project planning, scheduling, change orders, and other project-management responsibilities as needed. Communicate regularly with project managers, foremen, operators, and estimators to help projects move efficiently from estimating through completion.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience estimating civil construction, excavation, utilities, or site development projects. Strong CAD and digital takeoff experience. Experience with Topcon GPS and machine-control systems, including building and managing machine-control files. Ability to read and understand civil construction plans and specifications. Strong understanding of excavation, grading, underground utilities, and site construction. Experience with project management is a plus. Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills. The ideal candidate is someone who understands both the office and the field—able to take a set of plans, develop accurate quantities and pricing, prepare GPS files, and communicate effectively with the people who will actually build the project.

Pay:

$75,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
