ELECTRICAL ESTIMATOR
in Sterling Heights, MI. The Electrical Estimator will lead the estimating and preconstruction process for multimillion-dollar industrial, large commercial, and healthcare electrical projects ranging from $20 to $30 million at a well-established electrical contracting firm. This role requires advanced technical knowledge, strong analytical skills, and the ability to collaborate with clients, engineers, vendors, and internal teams to develop competitive, accurate, and complete bids. The ideal candidate brings 5+ years of focused electrical estimating experience on large-scale projects, proficiency in industry-standard estimating software such as Accubid, and a solid command of NEC, NFPA, and healthcare electrical codes.

Responsibilities:
Lead the preparation of estimates for industrial, large commercial, and healthcare electrical projects ranging from $20 to $30 million. Review project specifications, drawings, and scope of work to ensure a full understanding of project requirements. Perform detailed quantity take-offs, material pricing, and labor cost analysis. Develop budgets, conceptual estimates, and cost models during the design and preconstruction phases. Identify and analyze risk factors, value engineering options, and cost-saving opportunities. Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and field teams to ensure accuracy and constructability of estimates. Establish and maintain relationships with vendors, subcontractors, and clients to obtain competitive pricing. Participate in bid reviews, presentations, and contract negotiations. Mentor and support junior estimators, fostering team growth and professional development. Stay current with industry trends, codes, and innovations to maintain a competitive advantage.
Qualifications:
5+ years of electrical estimating experience with a focus on industrial, large commercial, or healthcare projects. Proven track record developing estimates for projects $10M+. Strong knowledge of NEC, NFPA, and healthcare electrical codes. Proficiency in estimating software such as Accubid, McCormick, ConEst, or similar; willingness to work within Accubid (training available). Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite. Excellent math, analytical, and organizational skills. Strong communication and negotiation abilities. Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Electrical Engineering, or a related field preferred. Familiarity with Autodesk construction tools is a plus but not required. Experience with P6 for project scheduling is a plus but not required.
Physical Requirements:
Regularly required to sit, stand, talk, and hear during the course of the workday. Frequently required to use hands and fingers to operate a computer, telephone, and keyboard for prolonged periods. Specific vision abilities required, including close vision due to extended computer work. Light to moderate lifting may be required occasionally.
Pay Transparency:
The anticipated annual salary range for this position is $85,000 to $150,000 annually, based on relevant factors such as experience, skills, education, internal equity, and geographic location.
