Job Description

Steinbrecher Coating Solutions is looking for a dependable, organized, and motivated individual to assist with the day-to-day operations of our commercial and industrial flooring business. This is a hands-on position with a long-term growth opportunity. Initially, the position will focus on preparing equipment and materials for projects, loading and unloading trucks and trailers, maintaining the shop, supporting project mobilization, and assisting with punch-list work. As the employee gains experience and demonstrates the ability to take on additional responsibility, we will provide training in estimating, material takeoffs, jobsite evaluations, proposal preparation, project coordination, and customer communication. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with construction or warehouse experience who wants to develop into a project coordinator, estimator, or sales position. Primary Responsibilities Shop and Operations Stage materials, equipment, tools, and supplies for upcoming projects. Load and unload company trucks and trailers. Receive material deliveries and verify quantities and products. Organize and maintain the shop, warehouse, equipment, and company vehicles. Track material and supply inventory and notify management when products need to be reordered. Assist with material pickups, deliveries, and transfers between the shop and jobsites. Clean, inspect, and help maintain grinders, vacuums, generators, trailers, and other flooring equipment. Help ensure crews leave with the correct materials, equipment, tools, and safety supplies. Assist with project mobilization and demobilization. Project and Field Support Visit jobsites to take measurements, photographs, and project notes. Assist with jobsite inspections and punch-list completion. Help document project conditions, changes, and completed work. Communicate project needs, shortages, or equipment issues to management. Occasionally assist field crews when additional project support is needed. Maintain a professional appearance and attitude when interacting with customers, general contractors, and vendors. Estimating and Sales Development Once trained, responsibilities may include: Reviewing drawings, specifications, and project documents. Completing basic square-footage measurements and material takeoffs. Requesting material pricing and confirming product availability. Assisting with proposal preparation and scope-of-work development. Attending site visits and preconstruction meetings. Following up with customers, vendors, and general contractors. Maintaining project information, photographs, estimates, and customer records. Learning Steinbrecher Coating Solutions' flooring systems, installation processes, production rates, and estimating standards. Qualifications Dependable, punctual, and able to work independently. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Comfortable performing both physical shop work and computer-based office work. Basic math and measurement skills. Comfortable learning Microsoft Excel, Outlook, estimating software, and other business systems. Able to communicate professionally with employees, customers, vendors, and contractors. Valid driver's license and an acceptable driving record. Able to regularly lift and carry approximately 50 pounds and occasionally handle heavier items with assistance or proper equipment. Willing to work occasional early mornings, overtime, or out-of-town assignments when projects require it. Construction, commercial flooring, warehouse, equipment, estimating, or project coordination experience is helpful but not required. The Ideal Candidate The ideal candidate enjoys construction but also wants the opportunity to grow beyond a strictly labor-based position. This person notices what needs to be done, stays organized, follows through, and takes pride in making sure crews and projects are properly prepared. We are looking for someone interested in building a career with the company—not simply filling a temporary shop position. Compensation and Benefits Starting pay of $25-$29 per hour, based on experience and qualifications. Full-time, hourly position. Overtime opportunities based on workload. Formal performance and development review after 90 days. Opportunity for advancement into project coordination, estimating, and sales. Schedule Primarily Monday through Friday. Start times may vary depending on project schedules. Occasional overtime, early mornings, and out-of-town work may be required. To Apply Please submit a résumé or summary of your work experience and briefly explain why a position combining hands-on construction operations with future estimating and project coordination interests you. Steinbrecher Coating Solutions is an equal opportunity employer.
