Position Summary The Estimator / Project Manager is responsible for estimating, planning, coordinating, and managing construction and related projects from initial scope and bidding through project completion and closeout. This position combines detailed cost estimating with hands-on project management and serves as a key point of contact for clients, vendors, subcontractors, field personnel, and company leadership. The position is expected to help deliver projects safely, on schedule, within budget, and in accordance with contract, quality, and regulatory requirements. Essential Duties and Responsibilities - Estimating Review construction plans, blueprints, drawings, specifications, bid documents, contracts, and site conditions. Perform detailed quantity takeoffs and determine labor, material, equipment, subcontractor, and other project costs. Prepare accurate estimates, budgets, proposals, bids, scopes of work, and pricing schedules. Obtain, review, and compare pricing from subcontractors, suppliers, and vendors. Identify project assumptions, exclusions, scope gaps, risks, and potential cost impacts. Participate in site visits, pre-bid meetings, and project walkthroughs as required. Assist with value engineering and identify practical cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality. Maintain current cost information, vendor pricing, subcontractor relationships, and estimating records. Present estimates and proposals to company leadership, clients, or other project stakeholders as needed. Essential Duties and Responsibilities - Project Management Manage assigned projects from award/startup through completion, punch list, and final closeout. Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, milestones, resource plans, and work plans. Coordinate labor, materials, equipment, subcontractors, vendors, inspections, permits, and other project resources. Serve as the primary point of contact for clients and coordinate communications among field teams, subcontractors, suppliers, engineers, consultants, and management. Monitor project progress, costs, labor, materials, and schedules and address variances promptly. Review and manage contracts, purchase orders, subcontract agreements, invoices, and project documentation. Prepare, review, and process change orders and communicate scope, schedule, and cost impacts. Conduct regular jobsite visits and monitor work for progress, quality, safety, and compliance with plans and specifications. Lead or participate in project meetings and maintain accurate meeting notes, progress reports, daily reports, RFIs, submittals, and other records. Coordinate inspections and ensure required permits, approvals, and closeout documents are completed. Identify project risks, delays, conflicts, and potential budget issues and develop solutions to keep projects moving. Ensure projects comply with company safety policies, OSHA requirements, applicable building codes, and contract requirements. Support final punch list, warranty coordination, customer acceptance, and project closeout. Qualifications 3+ years of experience in construction estimating, project management, construction operations, or a related field preferred. Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, labor requirements, and project delivery processes. Ability to read and interpret blueprints, construction drawings, specifications, contracts, and technical documents. Strong mathematical, analytical, budgeting, and cost-management skills. Experience with quantity takeoffs, estimating, subcontractor/vendor pricing, and project budgeting. Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and competing deadlines. Excellent written and verbal communication, negotiation, customer-service, and problem-solving skills. Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Word, Outlook, and project-management or estimating software. Knowledge of OSHA safety requirements and applicable construction codes and regulations. Valid driver's license and ability to travel to project sites as required. Construction management degree, technical/trade education, or equivalent professional experience preferred. Preferred Skills Experience with construction estimating or project management platforms such as Procore, Bluebeam, Buildertrend, or similar software. Experience coordinating subcontractors and negotiating vendor pricing and project terms. Hands-on construction or field experience. Ability to understand production rates and translate labor, material, equipment, and subcontractor requirements into project costs. Ability to work independently while maintaining accountability for project schedules, budgets, quality, and client expectations. Physical Requirements and Work Environment Combination of office and active construction-site work. Ability to travel to and walk through construction sites, including uneven surfaces and areas under construction. Ability to stand, walk, bend, climb, and navigate jobsite conditions during inspections and project meetings. Ability to use standard office equipment and computer systems for extended periods. Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) when visiting or working at construction sites.
Pay:
$60,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
