Job Description Prepare detailed cost estimates for heavy construction projects, including highways, bridges, environmental, and site development projects. Analyze project specifications, drawings, and other documentation to determine project requirements. Collaborate with project managers and engineers to ensure estimates align with project goals and timelines. Research and evaluate costs of materials, labor, and equipment for accurate budgeting. Develop and maintain relationships with subcontractors and suppliers to obtain competitive pricing. Monitor and update cost estimates throughout the project lifecycle to reflect changes and adjustments. Present and justify cost estimates to stakeholders and leadership teams. Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations in all cost estimation processes. The Successful Applicant A successful Heavy Construction Estimator should have: Experience with heavy construction projects, including highways, bridges, environmental, and site development work. Strong knowledge of cost estimation techniques and industry standards. Ability to read and interpret project specifications and blueprints. Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with project teams and stakeholders. Proficiency in relevant estimation software and tools.
