Electrical Contracting Position Overview Global Electric, Inc. is seeking an experienced, dependable, & organized Estimator for electrical construction projects. The Estimator position is responsible for providing technical estimation of electrical projects including, but not limited to: bid preparation, submitting the bid, reviewing the contract/purchase order, Project Manager handoff, change order pricing, to job close out documentation.
Compensation Starting Wage :
$80,000 to $100,000/year Key Responsibilities Review proposal specifications, addenda, drawings, and attend pre-bid meetings (on-site and virtual) to determine scope of work and required contents of estimate Quantity takeoff(s) Solicitation and review vendor and subcontractor quotations Review current material pricing levels Review bid/construction schedule Identify parts of project that may be key to making a competitive estimate Draft and submit proposal documents Follow post bid closeout procedures Attend weekly estimating team meetings Performs other tasks and special projects as assigned Maintain and manage project documentation, including submittals, RFIs, change orders, and meeting minutes Assist with procurement, material tracking, and resource coordination Support development of project schedules and workflows with field supervisors and project managers Provide project support or oversight in the absence of the Project Manager The duties and responsibilities are intended to describe the general nature and scope of work being performed by this position. This is not a complete listing, and other duties will be assigned based on the position's role within the business unit. Qualifications A working knowledge of electrical construction and theory at a level normally acquired through completion of an electrical training program, two-year technical or business degree or related field; or 5 years' experience as an electrical estimator; or Bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, business, or related field preferred; equivalent experience considered 1-3 years of experience in construction or project coordination preferred Basic understanding of construction processes and project lifecycle Ability to read and interpret drawings and specifications (electrical preferred) Proficiency in Microsoft Office Strong organizational, time management, and multitasking skills Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving skills Ability to work effectively in a team environment and manage multiple priorities Valid driver's license with a clean driving record Benefits Employer-paid medical insurance (MODA Health) Dental insurance options (Delta Dental or Willamette Dental Group) Vision reimbursement up to $200 per year 401(k) with up to 5% employer match Employer-paid life and AD&D insurance Oregon Paid Leave Optional AFLAC supplemental insurance
