Our work includes commercial slabs, foundations, sidewalks, curbing, ADA ramps, site concrete, forming, reinforcing steel, saw-cutting, and related concrete construction. We are a growing company with multiple field crews and are looking for a Concrete Estimator to join our team and help us continue winning the right projects at the right price. Position Summary We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Concrete Estimator to prepare accurate, competitive bids for commercial concrete projects. This position is open to candidates at all experience levels. Someone with prior concrete estimating experience can take on bids independently, while someone with a construction, engineering, mathematics, or field background but limited estimating experience will receive training. The ideal candidate understands construction, is comfortable working with numbers and plans, and wants to develop into a key member of our estimating and operations team. Key Responsibilities Review construction plans, specifications, drawings, and bid documents to determine the complete scope of work Perform detailed quantity takeoffs for concrete, rebar, forming, excavation, and related materials Calculate material quantities, labor requirements, equipment, trucking, and other project costs Solicit and evaluate pricing from concrete suppliers, rebar suppliers, subcontractors, trucking companies, and other vendors Prepare complete, accurate, and competitive bid proposals Ensure bids are completed and submitted before project deadlines Maintain an organized bid log and track submitted proposals and bid results Follow up with general contractors and customers regarding submitted bids Visit project sites as needed to verify existing conditions, access, logistics, and scope Identify potential cost risks before submitting a bid, including: Site access and concrete placement Subgrade and soil conditions ADA requirements and slope compliance Saw-cutting and demolition Joint layout Forming requirements Reinforcing steel Concrete placement sequencing Existing concrete and asphalt conditions Pumping and material placement requirements Coordinate with project managers, superintendents, and field crews to ensure estimates reflect actual construction conditions Maintain organized records of takeoffs, pricing, estimates, and historical project costs Build and maintain historical cost data to improve future estimates Assist with improving estimating procedures, templates, and bid tracking systems Qualifications Open to candidates with all levels of experience Construction, concrete, engineering, estimating, or skilled-trade experience preferred Strong math and problem-solving skills Ability to read and understand construction plans and specifications, or willingness to learn Strong attention to detail Ability to manage multiple bids and deadlines simultaneously Strong written and verbal communication skills Comfortable communicating with general contractors, vendors, subcontractors, and internal field personnel Proficient with Microsoft Excel Comfortable learning new computer programs and construction technology Valid driver's license for occasional job-site visits Preferred Experience — Not Required Commercial concrete estimating Commercial construction Concrete flatwork Foundations Site concrete Sidewalks and ADA ramps Curb and gutter Reinforcing steel and rebar Forming Saw-cutting and demolition Concrete pumping Joint layout and placement sequencing ADA compliance requirements Experience with Bluebeam, PlanSwift, On-Screen Takeoff, ProEst, or similar estimating software Who We're Looking For We are willing to train the right person. You do not need to be an experienced estimator to apply. If you have construction experience, understand how jobs are built, are good with numbers, and are willing to learn, we want to hear from you. This position could be a strong fit for someone coming from: Construction management Project coordination Engineering Concrete field work Carpentry or forming Rebar Sitework Civil construction General contracting Construction administration The most important qualities are attention to detail, reliability, willingness to learn, and the ability to understand how an estimate translates into actual work in the field. Physical Requirements This is primarily an office-based position with occasional field work. The employee must be able to visit active construction sites, including areas with uneven terrain, construction equipment, and changing site conditions.
