Job Description
Job Description L5 Excavation, a Pacific Northwest excavation and earthwork contractor based in Woodinville, WA, is seeking an Estimator to support residential and commercial sitework projects. In this role, you'll review plans, perform detailed earthwork and utility takeoffs, analyze costs, and prepare competitive bids and budgets. You'll work closely with project managers and field supervisors to align estimates with production means and methods, safety requirements, and schedule expectations. Responsibilities Review civil and architectural plans, specifications, and addenda for excavation and sitework scope Perform detailed earthwork, trenching, and utility quantity takeoffs Develop cost estimates, budgets, and bid proposals for residential and commercial projects Solicit and evaluate subcontractor and vendor quotes Collaborate with project managers and field supervisors to align estimates with means, methods, and schedules Support value engineering, constructability review, and risk assessment Maintain organized estimate files, historical cost data, and production rates Participate in bid reviews and handoff meetings to operations teams Required Skills Construction estimating Earthwork and utility takeoffs Reading civil/architectural plans Cost analysis and budgeting Bid preparation and proposals Quantity surveying Estimating software (e.g., AGTEK, HCSS, Bluebeam) Excel and MS Office Subcontractor and vendor quoting Knowledge of excavation methods and sitework
