Overview Ferrotek is seeking a detail-oriented Commercial Estimator to prepare accurate, competitive cost estimates and proposals for structural and miscellaneous metal fabrication projects, as well as work for our Truck Body & Equipment division. This role works closely with clients, general contractors, engineers, and our production team to scope projects, price them accurately, and win profitable work. A background or degree in mechanical engineering is a plus. Duties Review project plans, specifications, and drawings to develop accurate, detailed cost estimates Prepare material, labor, and equipment take-offs for structural and miscellaneous metal fabrication projects Solicit, evaluate, and negotiate vendor and subcontractor quotes Prepare and submit competitive bids and proposals for private and commercial construction projects Analyze blueprints, RFPs, and contract documents to identify project scope, risk, and requirements Build and maintain strong relationships with general contractors, engineers, and clients Track bid results, win rates, and follow up on outstanding proposals Collaborate with shop/production management on capacity, scheduling, and feasibility of bids Identify value-engineering opportunities to improve project competitiveness and margin Maintain and update cost databases, pricing history, and estimating templates Support contract review and negotiation as needed Requirements 3+ years of estimating experience in metal fabrication, structural steel, construction, or a related industrial field Strong ability to read and interpret blueprints, structural drawings, and technical specifications Mechanical engineering degree or background a plus Proficiency with estimating software and Microsoft Office, especially Excel Excellent math, analytical, and problem-solving skills Strong written and verbal communication and negotiation skills Ability to manage multiple bids and deadlines simultaneously in a fast-paced environment Knowledge of metal fabrication, welding processes, and/or the truck body/equipment industry a plus Highly detail-oriented with strong organizational skills About Ferrotek Ferrotek is a metal fabrication company based in Ferndale, Washington, specializing in structural and miscellaneous metal fabrication for private and commercial construction and industrial clients. Pay:

$72,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
