Immediate! CV Resources is partnering with a leading Pacific Northwest construction company to hire an experienced Buyer in the Longview / Woodland, WA area! This is an exciting opportunity to join an established construction organization offering competitive compensation, long-term career potential, and the possibility of direct hire for the right candidate! We're looking for a purchasing professional with experience sourcing mechanical construction materials, particularly piping systems, valves, fittings, and related components. If you have a background in mechanical contracting, commercial plumbing, HVAC, or industrial construction procurement, we'd love to connect!

RESPONSIBILITIES

Source and purchase piping, valves, fittings, flanges, gaskets, supports, hangers, fasteners, and other mechanical construction materials. Review construction drawings, material specifications, takeoffs, and bills of materials to ensure accurate purchasing. Evaluate product specifications, including pipe schedules, wall thickness, pressure ratings, coatings, and connection types. Manage supplier relationships, negotiate pricing, and coordinate material deliveries. Prepare purchase orders, compare vendor quotes, and identify cost-saving opportunities. Partner with project managers and field teams to ensure materials arrive on time and meet project requirements. Track inventory, resolve purchasing discrepancies, and manage long-lead materials.

REQUIREMENTS

5+ years of purchasing, procurement, or materials management experience preferred. Experience purchasing mechanical construction materials , including piping, valves, fittings, flanges, or related components. Familiarity with commercial or industrial piping systems such as ABS, PVC, CPVC, carbon steel, stainless steel, copper, or ductile iron. Understanding of material specifications, including pipe schedules, pressure classes, joining methods, and service applications. Ability to interpret construction drawings, material takeoffs, and technical specifications. Strong vendor management, negotiation, and organizational skills. Experience with purchasing or ERP systems preferred. Mechanical contracting, plumbing, HVAC, or industrial construction experience strongly preferred.
