In this role, you will be responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates, analyzing blueprints and technical drawings, and collaborating closely with clients, project managers, and suppliers to deliver competitive bids. Your expertise will help ensure projects are financially viable, on schedule, and aligned with client expectations. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to diverse construction initiatives while honing your skills in estimation, project management, and cost control. Responsibilities Review and interpret construction drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications to accurately estimate material requirements and labor costs. Develop detailed project budgets by utilizing estimating software such as HeavyBid or similar tools, ensuring precise cost projections for all project phases. Conduct material cost estimating by analyzing blueprints and specifications, sourcing pricing from suppliers, and managing bid proposals. Collaborate with clients and internal teams through effective negotiation to secure favorable pricing and contract terms. Manage multiple projects simultaneously by coordinating with project managers to ensure estimates align with project scope, schedule, and budget constraints. Utilize construction management software like Bluebeam and Xactimate for document review, markup collaboration, and estimating purposes. Monitor ongoing project costs through spreadsheets and cost management tools to maintain budget adherence and implement cost-saving strategies when necessary. Review construction contracts, manage change orders, and oversee the estimation of additional work or modifications during project execution. Maintain clear communication with clients regarding bid status, scope clarifications, and project expectations while ensuring all estimates meet industry standards. Skills Proficiency in Bluebeam Revu for blueprint reading, markup review, and document collaboration. Strong negotiation skills to establish favorable terms with suppliers and subcontractors. Experience with HeavyBid or comparable estimating software for comprehensive project cost analysis. Extensive knowledge of construction industry practices including construction management software such as Xactimate. Skilled in reading construction drawings, interpreting technical specifications, and estimating material requirements from blueprints. Expertise in managing projects as a construction estimator with a focus on accurate budgeting, cost control, and material cost estimating. Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel spreadsheets for detailed estimates; Word for reports) and construction management tools for effective project oversight. Construction site experience combined with a solid understanding of construction management principles including contracts and project management workflows. Ability to analyze bids critically while maintaining attention to detail in estimating labor hours, materials, equipment needs, and associated costs.
