Job Description

Position Summary Reports to: CEO The Project Manager/Estimator is responsible for managing construction projects from initial concept through closeout while preparing accurate cost estimates and supporting the bidding process. This role combines project leadership, cost analysis, documentation management, and client communication to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. The Project Manager/Estimator works closely with clients, subcontractors, suppliers, and internal teams to maintain smooth project execution and strong customer relationships. Essential Duties and Responsibilities General Office Etiquette
  • Maintain and protect the reputation of Campbell Construction.
  • Respond to all phone calls and emails within 24 hours.
  • Dress in business casual Monday - Thursday; Friday is a dress down day. Cost Estimation & Bid Management
  • Prepare detailed cost estimates by analyzing project requirements, blueprints, and technical documents.
  • Assist in bid solicitation, including distributing invitations, tracking responses, and maintaining subcontractor/supplier databases.
  • Participate in subcontractor bidding and meet established bid submission quotas.
  • Support proposal development and budget estimates for projects under $100,000.
  • Review and approve subcontractor and material invoices.
  • Process time-and-material tickets and change orders promptly. Project Planning & Setup
  • Develop detailed project plans including scope, schedule, resources, and deliverables.
  • Coordinate with stakeholders to identify project requirements and expectations.
  • Set up preliminary project work to ensure a smooth start.
  • Identify and schedule long-lead items.
  • Create and monitor critical control calendars.
  • Ensure all permits, utilities, and licensing requirements are completed and documented.
  • Assign tasks to field staff per job start-up checklists. Project Management & Execution
  • Manage projects from start to finish, ensuring adherence to budget, timeline, and quality standards.
  • Maintain and update detailed project timelines, adjusting schedules as needed.
  • Monitor project costs and forecast potential overruns or resource shortages.
  • Track daily logs submitted by superintendents and address issues promptly.
  • Build and maintain project dashboards for active projects.
  • Conduct weekly quality checks and ensure all deliverables meet company and client expectations.
  • Maintain clear communication with clients, subcontractors, and internal teams.
  • Provide regular project updates, reports, and presentations. Document and Controls
  • Maintain organized project documentation, including plans, specifications, permits, contracts, and correspondence.
  • Create and track shop drawing and submittal logs.
  • Ensure project photos are taken, organized, and filed properly.
  • Hand off project binders for digital archiving upon completion.
  • Ensure timely completion of closeout documents.
  • Process and follow through on warranty repairs and punch list items. Risk, Issue, & Quality Management
  • Identify potential project risks and develop mitigation plans.
  • Address issues or roadblocks that could impact project progress.
  • Communicate risks and resolutions to stakeholders.
  • Ensure high-quality workmanship and compliance with safety standards and regulations. Client Relations
  • Maintain and develop strong customer relationships.
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for clients throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Ensure client expectations are met and concerns are addressed promptly. Additional Responsibilities
  • Provide backup support for administrative staff when needed.
  • Coordinate with other departments to streamline processes and improve efficiency.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management. Confidentiality and Discretion
  • Maintain confidentiality on sensitive company matters, including financial, personnel issues, and strategic planning.
  • Exercise discretion when handling confidential communications and decisions.
Qualifications & Skills Strong interest in construction estimating and project cost tracking Excellent organizational skills with strong attention to detail Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines simultaneously Strong written and verbal communication skills Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel preferred) Ability to work independently while supporting project managers and estimators Willingness to learn construction terminology, drawings, and specifications Ability to pass a background check Reliable transportation Ability to work in office full-time Residence within 1 hour of Mukwonago office Experience & Education Previous experience in construction project management is required. Coursework or a degree in construction management, engineering, architecture, or a related field is a plus. Estimating software experience is a plus. Blueprint reading experience preferred. Pay is based on experience. Pay:
$85,000.00 - $135,000.00 per year
