About DC Electric DC Electric, Inc. is an established and growing commercial electrical contractor serving the Washington, D.C., Northern Virginia, and Maryland markets. We specialize in commercial electrical construction, including tenant improvements, office renovations, and interior build-outs. We are seeking an experienced Commercial Electrical Estimator to join our team at our Bunker Hill, West Virginia office. Position Overview The Electrical Estimator will be responsible for preparing accurate and competitive estimates for commercial electrical construction projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of commercial electrical systems, construction drawings, labor requirements, and material pricing. We are looking for a motivated, detail-oriented professional who can work independently while collaborating with our project management team. Key Responsibilities Prepare detailed estimates for commercial electrical construction projects. Review construction drawings, specifications, and bid documents. Perform accurate electrical material and labor takeoffs. Obtain and evaluate vendor and subcontractor quotations. Develop competitive pricing for commercial electrical projects. Identify potential project risks, exclusions, and scope discrepancies. Prepare professional bid proposals. Coordinate with project managers and company leadership. Maintain organized estimating records and project documentation. Assist with project budgeting and value engineering when necessary.

Qualifications Required:

Minimum 5 years of commercial electrical estimating experience preferred. Strong knowledge of commercial electrical construction methods and materials. Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and specifications. Experience preparing detailed material takeoffs and labor estimates. Understanding of the National Electrical Code (NEC). Strong organizational and communication skills. Ability to manage multiple estimates and deadlines. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and estimating software EBM.

Preferred:

Experience estimating commercial tenant improvements and interior renovations. Familiarity with electrical estimating software such as EBM, or similar platforms. Previous experience working for a commercial electrical contractor. Field experience as a commercial electrician is a plus. Annual Salary:

$80 - 110k depending on experience and qualifications.
