Responsibilities Measure and interpret construction plans, schematics, and technical drawings to determine the scope of flooring projects. Prepare surfaces by cleaning, leveling, and repairing subfloors to ensure proper installation conditions. Install a wide range of flooring types including hardwood, vinyl, tile, epoxy coatings, carpet, and laminate with precision and attention to detail. Use hand tools and power tools safely and effectively to cut, shape, and secure flooring materials. Perform floor refinishing tasks such as sanding, buffing, sealing, and water damage restoration to restore floors to their optimal condition. Follow building material installation safety compliance standards to maintain a safe work environment at all times. Assist with other construction-related tasks such as drywall installation, caulking, trim carpentry, fixture installation, and remodeling projects as needed. Skills Extensive experience with flooring installation including hardwood, vinyl, tile laying, epoxy floor application, and carpet installation. Strong knowledge of construction estimating processes and interpreting technical drawings or schematics. Proficiency with hand tools (e.g., saws, chisels) and power tools (e.g., drills, grinders) used in flooring projects. Ability to handle manual tasks such as lifting heavy materials safely while maintaining proper body mechanics. Familiarity with building material installation techniques including drywall finishing, caulking, cabinet installation, and floor care maintenance. Experience working on construction sites with adherence to safety protocols and building installation safety compliance standards. Knowledge of blueprint reading for accurate project execution; experience in restoration industry or water damage restoration is a plus. Capable of interpreting technical schematics related to flooring systems or construction plans for precise implementation. Skilled in construction painting, concrete finishing, remodeling projects, and handyman tasks that support overall project success.
