This is a full-time opportunity for a skilled tradesperson who has extensive experience with tile installation, surface preparation, layout, cutting, grouting, and finishing. The ideal candidate will be comfortable working independently, maintaining consistent workmanship across multiple rooms, and completing installations efficiently without sacrificing quality. This project is expected to last several months and requires someone who can commit to a consistent Monday-through-Friday schedule. Candidates must have previous tile installation experience, their own tools, and reliable transportation. Key Responsibilities Tile Installation & Preparation Install tile in hotel guest rooms and designated areas according to project specifications. Prepare surfaces for tile installation, including cleaning, leveling, and ensuring proper adhesion. Measure and lay out tile patterns to ensure accurate placement and professional results. Cut and shape tiles using appropriate hand tools and power equipment to accommodate corners, edges, fixtures, and other obstacles. Apply mortar, thinset, adhesives, and other setting materials using proper installation techniques. Install floor and wall tile as directed by the project supervisor. Maintain consistent tile spacing, alignment, and leveling throughout each installation. Complete grouting, caulking, sealing, and finishing work as required. Quality Control & Workmanship Ensure all tile installations meet project specifications and professional workmanship standards. Inspect completed work for proper alignment, adhesion, spacing, and overall appearance. Identify and correct installation issues before moving on to the next room. Maintain consistent quality and appearance throughout the 94-room renovation. Protect surrounding surfaces, fixtures, and completed work from damage during installation. Minimize material waste through accurate measurements and efficient cutting techniques. Project Efficiency & Organization Work efficiently to meet project deadlines and maintain a steady workflow. Coordinate with the project supervisor and other trades to ensure work is completed in the proper sequence. Follow assigned room schedules and complete installations in accordance with project priorities. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area. Properly store materials and equipment at the end of each workday. Communicate material shortages, installation concerns, or potential delays to the supervisor. Required Qualifications Previous professional experience in tile installation is required. Strong knowledge of tile-setting techniques, materials, adhesives, grout, and finishing methods. Ability to accurately measure, cut, lay out, and install tile. Experience using wet saws, tile cutters, trowels, levels, and other tile installation equipment. Ability to read measurements and follow installation instructions and project specifications. Strong attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality, consistent work. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Dependable attendance and the ability to commit to the full project duration. Ability to work efficiently while maintaining professional installation standards. Tools & Transportation - Required Applicants must have: Their own tile installation tools and equipment necessary to perform the job. Reliable transportation to and from the job site. The ability to transport their tools to the project location as needed. Physical Requirements Ability to stand, kneel, bend, crouch, and work on hands and knees for extended periods. Ability to lift and carry boxes of tile, tools, and installation materials within safe lifting limits. Ability to perform repetitive movements associated with tile installation. Ability to work in an active construction and renovation environment. Ability to safely operate tile-cutting equipment and other necessary tools.
