- Key Responsibilities:
- Measure, cut, install, and repair glass in windows, skylights, and other fixtures.
- Work with a range of materials, including tempered glass, laminated glass, and other specialty glass products.
- Read and interpret blueprints and specifications to determine the type and dimensions of glass required.
- Remove old or broken glass before installing replacements.
- Seal glass with appropriate materials to ensure airtight and watertight installation.
- Ensure that all installations comply with safety standards and building codes.
- Collaborate with other construction professionals on projects to ensure timely completion and superior quality.
- Maintain equipment and tools in good working condition.
- Provide excellent customer service by communicating effectively with clients and addressing their needs and concerns.
- Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a glazier or in a similar role.
- Strong understanding of safety practices and building codes.
- Proficiency in using hand tools and machinery associated with glass installation.
- Ability to read technical documents and drawings.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Physical strength and stamina to handle heavy materials and work at heights.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work well in a team environment.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
