Job Description

Job Summary Koala Insulation of Southern Connecticut is a growing insulation contractor based in Shelton. We're Lowe's preferred insulation provider in our area and an approved contractor for EnergizeCT home energy programs. We do spray foam, blown-in and batt insulation for homeowners, builders and contractors. We're a small, hands-on team that cares about doing the job right the first time. We're looking for an experienced sprayer who wants to own the quality of our spray foam work and help build the crew around them. Responsibilities Lead spray foam jobs from start to finish with a helper: set up and position the rig, start and run the proportioner safely, and manage chemical and hose temperatures and pressures. Prep and mask substrates, and apply open-cell and closed-cell foam to spec, hitting the right depth and consistency on every pass. Troubleshoot equipment and chemical problems on the spot. That includes off-ratio foam, gun break-down and cleaning, and routine rig maintenance.
Document every job:
before and after photos in CompanyCam, plus logs of temperatures, pressures and material use, so we can show the job was done within spec.
Represent the company with customers:
pre-job and post-job walkthroughs, answering questions, and leaving a clean site and a confident customer.
Enforce safety on every job:
PPE, ventilation, re-occupancy times, and safe towing and positioning of trailers. Train and mentor assistant installers so the whole crew gets stronger. Lead or support blown-in and attic retrofit work on days when there's no spray foam scheduled. Requirements 3+ years of hands-on spray foam installation, open- and closed-cell. Both new construction and retrofit experience is preferred. The ability to run a job independently, with no supervision needed. Solid proportioner and gun troubleshooting skills (Graco, PMC or similar). CPI Spray Foam Safety certification, or willingness to earn it within 90 days. A valid driver's license, a clean driving record, and comfort towing trailers. The ability to pass a background check, a respirator medical clearance and a fit test. The ability to work in attics, crawlspaces, heat and confined spaces, and to lift 50 lb frequently.
Reliability:
you show up on time, follow through, and take pride in your work. Join us if you're passionate about delivering top-tier insulation solutions while leading a dedicated team! We value safety-minded professionals who thrive in fast-paced environments and are eager to contribute their expertise toward building energy-efficient structures.
Nice to have:
SPFA/ABAA
certification, BPI training, and an understanding of building science and air sealing.
