Help for Job Description. Opens a new window. We are seeking a Insulation Trades On any given day, you may be called on to:
Install, repair and maintain a variety of insulation materials on all types of interior/exterior facilities equipment and component parts such as steam and condensate, liquid, gaseous or cryogenic pipelines, heating, air conditioning, refrigeration, or other mechanical distribution systems.
As a condition of employment, Metal Trades positions are represented by the Metal Trades Council (MTC) and represented employees must pay the monthly dues or agency fee.

Qualifications We Require:
Plan, install, modify, repair and maintain a variety of insulation materials on all types of interior/exterior facilities equipment and component parts such as steam and condensate, liquid, gaseous or cryogenic pipelines, heating, air conditioning, refrigeration, or other mechanical distribution systems.
Work involves consulting with suppliers, engineers and coworkers to determine and install the most suitable insulating material.
Identify and maintain an insulating material inventory.
Responsibilities include covering surfaces by cutting, fitting, and fastening materials in the form of sheets, strips, blocks, or preformed sleeves using foams, molds, and sheet metal; insulate valves, flanges, elbows, and other curvilinear areas using wire mesh and plastic mortars; finish by gluing, sewing, or stapling covers, and troweling final coat to desired contour.
Perform work using industry standard safety practices including proper techniques and training to erect scaffolding, enlarge openings, and work in confined spaces.
Ability to obtain and maintain a Q clearance.
Qualifications We Desire:
Typical experience includes minimum of 3 - 5 years as a fully qualified Mechanical Systems Insulator Tradesperson.
