Job Overview We're looking for a hard-working Grinder / Fabricator to grind, smooth, and finish welded steel parts so they're ready for the next step. No experience is required — we'll train you.

About Direct Dimension LLC Direct Dimension LLC is a welding and fabrication shop producing engineered parts for the transportation industry. We're a tight-knit team who take pride in precision work and parts our customers can count on. This is a hands-on role at the heart of that work — you'll put the final finish on the parts that go out our door. Responsibilities Grind, deburr, and smooth welded steel parts using angle grinders and other hand power tools Clean up welds, edges, and surfaces so parts are finished and ready for the next operation Check your own work and flag anything that doesn't look right Help the fabrication team with related tasks as you learn the shop Keep your work area clean, organized, and safe Follow all shop safety practices and wear the required PPE Requirements No experience necessary — we'll train the right person Reliable attendance, Monday-Friday with a 6:00 AM start Able to work long periods of time standing in a static position while using power tools Comfortable with repetitive, hands-on work — and able to keep quality up while doing it Able to work outside in nice weather — some of this work is often done outdoors in summer Safety-minded and willing to learn High school diploma or GED preferred Preferred (a Plus, Not Required) Forklift certification — an advantage here Experience with angle grinders or other power tools, on the job or in trade school Background in a manufacturing, fabrication, or welding shop environment Physical Requirements & Work Environment Steel-toe boots and safety glasses (PPE) required on the shop floor — boot allowance and uniforms provided after onboarding period Face shield, hearing protection, and gloves provided for grinding work Long periods of standing in a static position while operating power tools Work is performed in an active welding and fabrication shop, with some work done outside in nice weather Schedule Full-time, Monday-Friday, 6:00 AM-2:30 PM — the window includes a lunch break; 40 hours per week On-site at our Lake in the Hills, IL facility Compensation & Benefits $18 - $20 per hour, based on experience Room to grow: do this job well and it may lead to other opportunities in the shop — fabrication, welding, and the higher pay that comes with those skills Health, dental, and vision insurance Paid time off and paid holidays Boot allowance and uniforms provided Paid on-the-job training To Apply If you're reliable, take pride in your work, and want a job where you can learn a trade and grow, we'd like to hear from you.
