Plater Selfridge Plating, Inc. - 3.8 Harrison Township, MI Job Details Full-time 12 hours ago Benefits Health insurance Dental insurance 401(k) Paid time off 401(k) 5% Match Vision insurance 401(k) matching Life insurance Qualifications Basic math Manufacturing facility experience Attention to detail Ability to follow instructions Industrial equipment Full Job Description Position Summary The Plater is responsible for performing metal finishing and plating operations in accordance with customer specifications, internal procedures, and quality requirements. This position prepares, processes, and inspects parts throughout the plating process while maintaining proper documentation and safe work practices. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Review work orders, routers, specifications, and processing instructions before beginning each job. Prepare parts for plating by properly loading, racking, wiring, or positioning parts for processing. Operate plating tanks and related equipment according to established procedures. Process parts through required cleaning, rinsing, plating, and finishing steps. Monitor plating times, temperatures, electrical settings, and other required process parameters. Visually inspect parts throughout the plating process for proper coverage, appearance, and defects. Verify parts meet applicable workmanship and customer requirements before moving to the next operation. Complete production and processing documentation accurately and legibly. Maintain proper identification and traceability of customer parts. Report abnormalities involving parts, equipment, chemical baths, or processing conditions to supervision or Quality/Lab personnel. Properly handle parts to prevent damage, contamination, loss, or mixing of jobs. Follow all required chemical handling, PPE, safety, environmental, and quality procedures. Maintain a clean and organized work area. Meet production expectations while maintaining quality standards. Assist with other production or metal finishing operations as needed. Qualifications Previous plating, metal finishing, or manufacturing experience preferred. NADCAP, aerospace, defense, or other controlled manufacturing experience is a plus. Ability to read and understand work instructions, routers, specifications, and processing documentation. Basic math skills and ability to accurately record production information. Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality. Ability to recognize plating defects or abnormal processing conditions. Ability to safely work around chemicals and industrial equipment. Ability to follow established procedures without unauthorized deviation. Reliable attendance and ability to work scheduled hours and overtime as required. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
