Job Description

Summary This position is responsible for completing various shop orders using specific fabrication skills and techniques. A working knowledge of sheet metal fabrication and mechanical principles is required. The position involves working closely with raw materials, using a variety of fabrication equipment, specialized machinery, and computerized devices. The position is accountable for ensuring that the quality of the components and products he/she creates conform to drawings and specifications. Qualification Requirements To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to achieve each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Minimum Qualifications High School Diploma (or GED) preferred but not required Must pass background check and drug Fabricator 1
  • 6 months or more operational experience in the fabrication of components using both manually operated and computer-controlled fabrication Fabricator 2
  • 4 years or more operational experience in the fabrication of components using both manually operated and computer-controlled fabrication Fabricator
  • 15 years or more operational experience in the fabrication of components using both manually operated and computer-controlled fabrication equipment.
Associates degree in Metal Fabrication Technology or similar degree is preferred, but equivalent working experience Forklift certification & scissor lift certification Ability to fabricate geometrically complex sheet metal and/or copper components using an array of equipment including but not limited to a brake presses, shears, waterjet, folding, laser, plasma, Must be able to work well with all levels of personnel whether individually or in a team Experience and ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Demonstrated ability to use a wide variety of both manually operated and computer-operated fabrication Knowledge and ability to apply mathematics and measurement tools to setup equipment and ensure end products meet dimensional requirements and Working knowledge of Geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T). Quality Assurance (QA) skills
  • experience with quality assurance and control processes employed to ensure that fabricated parts meet specifications and quality standards. Examine parts and components to ensure that they are free of Safety skills
  • demonstrated ability to follow safety standards and protocols and ensure the safety of other team members in proximity to all work Ability to work with maintenance team members to assist with repairs and troubleshooting and ensure equipment is properly maintained for reliable Team coordination
  • Ability to thrive in a collaborative, fast paced, team environment.
Ability to successfully collaborate with team members throughout the manufacturing process. Physical Demands This position will require standing, stooping, bending, and limited lifting of up to 50lbs. Work Environment Exposure to weather, extreme heat or cold, noise intensity level, exposure to toxic or caustic chemicals, wet and/or humid, vibration, proximity to moving mechanical parts.
