Job Overview We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Metal and Glass Fabricator to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for transforming raw metal and glass materials into high-quality, precision-finished products used in construction, architectural, and commercial applications. Your expertise will ensure that each piece meets strict safety standards, technical specifications, and quality expectations. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with advanced fabrication techniques and contribute to innovative projects that enhance structural integrity and aesthetic appeal. Duties Interpret mechanical blueprints, technical drawings, and fabrication shop drawings to accurately guide the manufacturing process. Measure, cut, shape, and assemble metal and glass components using hand tools, power tools, plasma cutters, and machining equipment. Perform welding operations including MIG (Metal Inert Gas), TIG (Tungsten Inert Gas), FCAW (Flux-Cored Arc Welding), and SMAW (Shielded Metal Arc Welding) in accordance with AWS (American Welding Society) standards. Use precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and shop math to ensure accurate dimensions and tolerances. Operate cranes and other lifting equipment safely to move heavy materials on construction sites or within fabrication shops. Adhere strictly to safety protocols during all phases of fabrication and assembly processes to prevent accidents or injuries. Assemble fabricated parts into final products, ensuring proper fitment and structural integrity according to ASME (American Society of Mechanical Engineers) codes & standards. Qualifications Proven experience working on construction sites or in fabrication shops with a focus on metal and glass projects. Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and mechanical blueprints. Proficiency in using measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and other precision tools. Skilled in welding techniques including MIG, TIG, FCAW, SMAW, with certifications preferred but not required. Familiarity with plasma cutting, machining, assembly processes, and sheet metal fabrication. Knowledge of safety procedures related to handling heavy materials, power tools, welding equipment, and construction site environments. Ability to work effectively with hand tools, power tools, fabrication machinery, and measuring instruments. Basic math skills necessary for shop math calculations related to measurements and material estimations.
