In this role, you will be responsible for assembling and maintaining custom metal and glass fixtures used in architectural and decorative applications. Your expertise will ensure that each project meets precise specifications, adheres to safety standards, and showcases exceptional craftsmanship. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with a variety of metal materials and glass components, transforming technical drawings into stunning finished products. Responsibilities Interpret mechanical blueprints, technical drawings, and fabrication shop drawings to accurately assemble ornamental metal and glass structures. Use measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and shop math to ensure precise cuts and fits of sheet metal and other materials. Operate power tools, hand tools, plasma cutters, and welding equipment including MIG (Metal Inert Gas), TIG (Tungsten Inert Gas), FCAW (Flux-Cored Arc Welding), SMAW (Shielded Metal Arc Welding), and gas metal arc welding to fabricate and assemble components. Read and interpret construction plans, technical drawings, ASME (American Society of Mechanical Engineers) codes & standards, and AWS (American Welding Society) standards for quality assurance. Perform metal fabrication tasks such as cutting, bending, welding, grinding, polishing, and assembly of sheet metal and other metal materials. Maintain a clean and safe work environment by adhering to all safety protocols related to construction site operations, welding practices, and equipment handling. Collaborate with team members on complex projects involving construction site experience, crane operation, machining, plasma cutting, assembly, and installation of ornamental features. Experience Proven shop fabrication experience working with metal materials in a manufacturing or construction environment. Minimum 5 years experience Hands-on knowledge of blueprint reading, interpreting technical drawings, and mechanical blueprint interpretation. Skilled in the use of measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, tape measures, and shop math for precise fabrication. Experience operating various welding techniques including MIG, TIG, FCAW, SMAW, gas metal arc welding, and welding standards. Familiarity with construction site experience including crane operation or coordination is a plus. Ability to work safely while handling power tools, hand tools, plasma cutters, machining equipment, and assembly tools in accordance with safety protocols.
